Extreme dissatisfaction with StarRV Queenstown
I collected the motorhome on August 31 2024 at 14 10 Unfortunately it did not live up to the advertised luxury standards the interior was outdated and the engine made a troubling cranking noise I requested a replacement because I needed to travel to Fox Glacier and use Arthur Pass to return to Christchurch but my request was denied While heading to Glenorchy the desk fell to the floor forcing me to drive back to StarRV Queenstown for repairs My request for an exchange was once again rejected The next morning the motorhome displayed ABS and ESP warnings and advised a visit to a workshop I returned to StarRV Queenstown and finally secured a replacement motorhome but this process took until 12 48 pm delaying my journey to Fox Glacier This entire ordeal significantly disrupted my holiday and prevented me from enjoying the scenic route and attractions I am deeply disappointed with the luxury motorhome provided by StarRV and am seeking compensation for the time lost and the impact on my holiday experience

Lack of Communication and Inadequate ServiceOur experience was disappointing due to a lack of communication and insufficient service We had a pick-up scheduled for 8 30 AM from the CHC airport branch but upon arrival we were informed that our van was not ready due to staff shortages This should have been communicated to us before we arrived especially since we had booked two vans for a total of nine people We agreed to pick up the vans at 12 30 PM with the understanding that we would be informed if there were further delays However we received no updates and finally had to leave only to have the vans handed over at 2 30 PM This delay forced us to reschedule all of our bookings to stay on schedule Additionally there were several issues with the vans Despite booking two campervans some of the complimentary items were missing such as only one heater between the two vans no cleaning supplies for the toilet or vessels and no rubbish bags or bins The most disappointing aspect was the 250 cleaning fee charged to us I have requested an explanation as we never used the cassette toilet and the gray water tank was emptied on the last day of return We hope to receive a satisfactory resolution regarding the unnecessary cleaning fees

Extremely Disappointing Experience Avoid at All CostsShort Summary Our experience with this motorhome rental company was absolutely terrible The motorhome did not match the description communication with the reservations team was horrendous and the overall value for money was shockingly poor Save yourself the trouble rent a normal car and stay at quality hotels instead Full Review We rented a motorhome for over five weeks expecting a high-quality experience based on the company s claims Unfortunately the reality was far from the promises 1 Motorhome Not as AdvertisedThe motorhome we received was nothing like the comfortable and stylish design advertised Instead it was outdated worn down and riddled with issues The interior was in poor condition with sagging cushions and mattresses that made sleeping nearly impossible The vehicle was so noisy during the drive that I had to wear earplugs to endure the rattling Basic cooking essentials were missing such as scissors a whisk and an extra pot which made meal prep unnecessarily difficult 2 Unacceptable Customer ServiceThe level of service from the reservations team was appalling At pick-up the motorhome was not ready because the previous renter returned it late While I was refunded for the day this delay forced me to rush to my destination on New Year s Eve a stress I shouldn t have had to bear When I reported the issues and requested a swap I was told I could only get an upgraded motorhome if I paid extra This is unacceptable I should not have been charged for an issue caused by the company s negligence Communication was abysmal I had to repeatedly call the reservations team only to be ignored or given vague promises of callbacks that never happened 3 A Ruined Start to Our TripWe eventually decided to stop relying on the company and fix the problems ourselves to salvage our holiday We bought duct tape and tension straps to reduce the rattling an extra mattress for comfort and additional kitchen essentials These out-of-pocket expenses should never have been necessary Conclusion This company s lack of professionalism poor customer service and misrepresentation of their product made for a deeply disappointing experience While New Zealand is a stunning country that ultimately saved our trip the rental process was a disgrace Save yourself the frustration and avoid this company at all costs

The communication internally in the
The communication internally in the company between the centralised call centre and the depots service teams is incredibly poor The staff are very disciplined in not sharing a specific phone number - EVERYTHING MUST GO THROUGH THE 1800 NUMBER If I were to guess I would say that is the first thing all employees are taught Above all else Not the customers not the vans just don t share a specific phone number On the first day the bed didn t drop so we slept on the floor second day we took a gamble on booking a hotel which they refunded they gave us a fan heater with a cut cable third night we slept on the floor I will never book Star RV or JUCY Rentals again And that incredibly happy hold voice gets super annoying when you call for the 5 6 7 8 9 10th time - ESPECIALLY when the person hangs up after being on hold for 40 minutes

Both RV and customer service not as it should be
RV had some issues and couldn t go a night without power Costs us a lot of time and money during our trip On drop off they promised a reimbursement but never got it When I contacted them about is they said they never promised Customer service is terrible Spend you money on another RV
