If there was less than one star
If there was less than one star I d gladly use that The customer service is well below standard due to poor procedures First when you call you have to listen to multiple messages only to be told wait time over 2 hours When you eventually get through you speak to a different person each time only to realise the person you last spoke with never updated your claim details Then after 3 weeks you find out no property assessor has ever been appointed despite being told otherwise Meanwhile water is running out of our wall and causing more damage DON T use State

Terrible claims experience
Terrible claims experience Accepted a claim told them we d like cash settlement 20 days with zero response on email and now over 1 45mins on hold to talk to someone and counting Also you don t need to remind me literally every 30seconds that all your consultants are currently busy After the 210th time it gets a little annoying Will be cancelling all my policies as I can get cheaper cover elsewhere

Terrible service by state and agent name-miniCan t find the address rightCan t find the answer to a simple queryCharging extra 30 without any reason Contacted the senior supervisor but still the same started investigating on car insurance Asking me to wait a day so they can start renewal policy Thank you

Very angry Indian woman at the call
Very angry Indian woman at the call centre this morning She ended up hanging up on me while I was trying to find out information on my policy Really disappointing to see State throw all its customer service overseas to people to have no interest in being helpful Walked away thinking it s in my best interest to find a new provider

Vastly overpriced policies
Both my car renewal policies were massively overpriced and speaking with a manager at State eventually he confirmed that one policy was overcharged by some 320 and the other by just under 300 That is just one household how many others are affected and perhaps don t realise it Switched to Tower as State were quite frankly dishonest The manager promised me a follow up formal letter but that has never turned up

Very disappointing service
Very disappointing service They have increased my premium by 30 in a renewal document without explanation I canceled the policy online before the renewal started but got an e-mail 2 days later that it had been renewed anyway Called the support they said they cancelled it Now got a cancellation e-mail that they are going to charge me for the period since the renewal up to today Outrageous

The worst insurance EVER
The worst insurance EVER one of there clients crashed into me she was on a learners license no full license driver in the passengers seat wrote my car off and all they could offer me was to pay the remaining balance of my car off they come an towed it now I m left with no car and 1000 dollars that s a joke

When in crisis we want to be heard
After a burglary you shouldn t be waiting 6 weeks to hear anything I phoned multiple times finally started to get somewhere but omg wanted to replace with smaller and cheaper everything Different story though when banking system changed in NZ and premium wasn t taken they didn t muck around then sent letter via snail mail but were quick to take the money fast When people are in a crisis moment they need to feel valued and important at that time and sorry state u guys don t cut it Workers seem slow and not really all together there

We ve been with State insurance for almost 30 years and never claimed anything Instead of premiums going down our house contents and car monthly payments after so many years is now 304 per month which is criminal Anyway I ve finally done some research and for us in Napier we re now changing to AMP as the cost difference was staggering

If they re not completely incompetent they re deceitful
If they re not completely incompetent then they re absolutely deceitful Still waiting for my car to be repaired after 7 mths 5th jan 2024 till 6th July and counting Lied about it being accessed and waiting for parts Went into the panel beater a couple of weeks after ringing state when they said it was waiting on parts To be told by the panel beater it hadn t even been assessed yet Then they give me the accessors number to ring him to sort it out Told it would be 14 weeks ended up being 19 weeks And still waiting for it to be repaired 3 weeks late absolutely no communication from state at all Will never be insuring wth them again
