If I could give less than zero stars I would I m trained in movement therapy counseling psychology but have no shame in needing someone to talk to now and again I was matched with a less than adequate therapist Lauren Fisch I saw her for about a year or so however I spent much of my sessions listening to Ms Fisch discuss her personal problems which I did not want to know about When I tried to talk she would talk over me I divulged some personal information and then suddenly and without warning she terminated our therapeutic sessions Stating she felt she wasn t helping me I never stated anything to that effect There were some moments where I felt that venting helped and having already divulged personal information I didn t want to start from scratch with someone new just yet So I was blindsided that someone could get away with such incompetent unfeeling behavior It s the job of the therapist to help support provide feedback and discuss the aforementioned I emailed the owner Lana Gaiton and informed her that if there was an ethical boundary that was breached or conflict of interest then it s up to the therapist and the client to have a conversation and together make a decision as to how to proceed However that was not the case Ms Gaiton is employing therapists who do not feel they can do the job and terminate without notice or discussion with their clients thereby devaluing and silencing clients With that they are hurting more than they are helping Therefore Lauren Fisch and these therapists should NOT be doing this job This is not the kind of work where you decide to jump off because you re feeling insecure and put those feelings off on your client because you lack the awareness to address them as was the case with Lauren Fisch That s like getting into the cockpit of a plane taking off and saying Sorry I just don t feel adequate enough to fly this plane and becoming a passenger with no one left to fly the plane What Lauren did is not okay and she should not be a therapist She needs to address her issues and be held accountable for her actions as she will hurt others However she won t be I spoke with the owner Lana Gaiton who client blamed me stating that she felt I had no right to be angry about what Lauren did and felt no need to hold her accountable for anything There are unstable people in this world and those individuals are therapists at Talking Works Counseling inclusive of Ms Gaiton While it s better I m not working with Ms Fisch There was no need to blindside your client and leave them with no support Have the uncomfortable conversation That s what therapy is for I ve reported them to the Licensing Board as well as the BBB and my insurance company If Ms Gaiton is going to run an irresponsible practice then she ll have to deal with the consequences of clients using our voices and not allowing them to cause further hurt and or trauma The only way to describe this place Ms Gaiton and Lauren Fisch is incompetent There are plenty of places to go for help This is not one of them
