False advertising Worst customer service
According to the Thalia website the book I ordered was in stock and would be sent in 2 days A week and a half later the book still has not been shipped This is the second time this has happened Last year it took them 2 weeks to send my order which according to their website was in stock I tried to call them and there has been no customer service available Why are they advertising that they provide online services during the corona crisis and not fulfill the advertised promises They are literally advertising to stay home and read a book and they will deliver this to you quickly By the time I receive my book the retail shops will be open again This is a Bait and Switch marketing tactic Sad

Incompetent customer service and poor treatment of customers
My 1 star is for poor customer service and feedback For payment I have always used Direct Debit suddenly removed 1 month ago and only pre-payment is now available to me Why I have never had any bank problems and the only answer I have received is that I have too many orders or ordered too much The same answer has been sent 3 times Therefore a good customer has the most convenient method of payment removed and no further information is given Up until 1 month ago I would have given Thalia in Austria 5 stars It is true that time estimates for delivery are often incorrect and this is a problem when buying presents but otherwise I can accept that but treating a regular purchaser as if they have financial problems and cannot be trusted is appalling Don t order too much or too often Update I contacted Thalia as requested in their reply to my review however 7 days later noone has bothered to reply to me Also they seem to think that this situation is an exception I have ordered 3 times since I wrote the review using Vorkasse twice and credit card belonging to a friend but the most convenient method for me Bankeinzug has been removed Spending 1-1 500 euros a year clearly does not make you a good customer from Thalia s point of view Update 2 I have eventually received a friendly reply from Thalia explaining to me that if you have too many orders and a high balance sort of follows on directly direct debit is automatically removed A good customer using Thalia rather than e g Amazon and ordering all Birthday and Xmas presents via them is simply penalized I suggest paying for a better algorithm that takes customer purchases and consistent punctual payment into account

Terrible unprofessional service 5 months no delivery
Hi I ordered backpack in August for my daughter to have it in September for Pre school It was mentioned delivery in 1-2 weeks The shop cancelled my order I ordered it again and they said that wrong item was delivered and I need to order it again it was in Sep Then without letting me know they cancelled my order again and suggested to place a new order They never could track try delivery or once it was lost somewhere Since 28 09 Im waiting for the NEW delivery Customer service replies only we don t have delivery date The backpack is always in the assortment but the shop plays with prices from 59 up to 95 euro I don t want to cancel my order I promised it to my daughter Terrible service Why I need to come to the shop every time ask the status Im tired to read we don t know the date of delivery -its UNPROFESSIONAL Its not normal to wait 5 months for delivery

I ordered a book in January and didn t hear back After asking they said that they will get it soon but they don t know exactly when I asked three times always the same answer Now EIGHT MONTHS later they tell me the book is unavailable It was listed as available on their website the whole time tricking customers into buying it Don t expect that anything is actually available from them even if they say so By the way Amazon delivered the same book within three days to me So why ever use Thalia again

Ordered a book set more than three months ago Still not here
Ordered a book set by the end of november and it was stated in the product that it will get delivered in 3-4 weeks It s been more than 3 months now and I haven t even received an updated delivery date The product still states that it will take 3 weeks to deliver which is clearly a lie since when writing them about my order all I get in return is a message that even they don t know when I will receive the book set

Incorrect charge for returned books with no refund
I had an incredibly frustrating experience with the Thalia online shop and I strongly advise against using their services I ordered 8 books and initially received 7 Since the books were from two different publishers I returned 3 of them to the store I received the necessary documentation and a refund for those 3 books However weeks later they sent me the last book and charged me for it separately To make matters worse they recharged me for the 3 books I had already returned and been refunded for I decided to return the last book as well which was also from the publisher I didn t choose While I did receive a refund for the last book I was still incorrectly charged for the 3 books I had already returned I contacted customer service multiple times but they were unhelpful and requested irrelevant information such as the IBAN of the account that charged my card something my bank told me doesn t exist for card transactions Despite my efforts and even visiting the store where I returned the books no one has resolved the issue It has been two months and I still haven t received my refund or the books I was charged for This experience has been a complete nightmare I will be getting my books elsewhere in the future and I do not recommend Thalia to anyone who doesn t want to deal with a massive headache and terrible customer service
