Learning Photography in Depth at My Pace
The Photography Institute has to date provided me with information and practical skills through reading and assignment to understand the art and science of photography Each module is framed by reading material covering a certain aspect of photography and an assignment that involves practical exercises taking pictures that reinforce the reading text For each module a set of questions that require thought and example photographs are uploaded and marked by your assessor The assessor provides valuable feedback and constructive comments along with a mark that shows your understanding of the module The great thing is that it doesn t matter how quickly or slowly you complete each module it can be done at your pace - provided you complete all your modules within a 12 month period Even then an extension can be arranged if required

Hobbiest Assessment
I have really enjoyed following the Modular course provided by the Photography Institute Each module comes with a comprehensive set of notes and exercises to complete These usually include uploading an image s as well as answering questions concisely The course has broadened my knowledge of photography and covered a number of genres as well as provided an incite into the commercial aspects of being a professional photographer if that is your aim I have followed the course as a hobbiest and found it inspirational One aspect I have enjoyed is that there is no pressure on the timeline for submitting your work so you can work at your own pace After submitting the answers and images for your assignments you receive a critique which is detailed honest and encouraging with suggestions of how to enhance your work You also receive a mark as an indication of how well or otherwise you have done I thoroughly recommend following the course there is plenty to learn and the feedback is exceptional
