It s been incredibly frustrating to try

It s been incredibly frustrating to try to activate troomi phone Support is basically non existent After requesting online for support activating the phone on a Thursday I got an email reply on Friday requesting more info I provided all the information on Friday morning and left a voice message After not hearing from them on Friday I sent another message through their website on Saturday It s now Sunday night and we haven t heard from anyone Every time we send a message through their website it creates a ticket however the site keeps erasing my inquiries except for the original one I no longer feel like it s worth keeping the phone and try to resolve whatever issue is keeping the phone from activating

Absent customer

We were one if the initial Troomi customers I love the product however in the last two weeks I ve needed to get in touch with customer service and been unable to get any response They were able to get us a replacement phone due to the microphone breaking on the original it s 2 years old We have not been able to activate the new phone and now the parent controls don t work on the old phone I ve tried their online portal email and phone When I call during their posted business hours I wait in the queue and then get a recording saying no one is available to help please leave a message I left a message and did not hear back I m truly saddened because I have spent the last two years telling everyone I know to sign up with them I m now looking for an alternative provider

FRUSTRATING DISAPPOINTING

I also have been frustrated and disappointed by the customer service of Troomi I really like the way it s set up wanted to use this phone but had trouble setting it up getting contacts in place So far in the past 8 days I have left 3 messages on the phone after waiting on hold while the queue counts down and then gives me a message that there are no service representatives available but to leave a message I have left a message each time with absolutely no response I also went to the email online help left 3 messages asking for help The tickets say they are in process but nothing happens until the ticket is erased SOOOOO FRUSTRATING

Troomi is awful

Troomi is very frustrating My child could not use social media or turn off safe browsing and only certain apps were available Also you could only have one phone number per contact Not only that but the phone also doesn t even work when off wifi Oh and by the way customer service is downright horrendous The phone didn t work for three straight days Overall Troomi has many issues and costs WAY more than it is worth Needless to say I returned my Troomi phone within one week

Horrible customer service They re only available M-F and closed Sat and Sun Because of this inconvenience I will be canceling my service

We have had 2 Troomi phones for over a year Horrible Customer service only open Mon-Fri Phones are constantly having issues functioning Customer service can t fix them or doesn t respond Not many apps available and app requests are never approved The tracking app that comes with the phone is inaccurate and has caused panic at times

Incredibly difficult to use and understand Can t add apps No FaceTime regular Youtube or kid games over 5 Just ones they have on their list which are not any good or use Not worth it I d give it zero stars if I could Waste of money Just get an iPhone with parental controls

Our child easily figured out how to get

Our child easily figured out how to get around any safety features and was openly surfing the internet for months and we didn t know We were even monitoring his texts keeping tabs on a lot of things on the phone but we didn t know that he had bypassed everything We thought we were being very vigilant Do not get a Troomi phone We feel so foolish

Unstable and Unyielding

My parents gave me a Troomi phone Don t get me wrong Big ol thank you to my folks- it was a Christmas present And having some kind of filter is definitely a must- the internet is a dangerous and tempting place for a tween But I wouldn t recommend Troomi to anyone A great deal of my frustration comes from being subjugated to a Troomi phone But complaining about that is pointless- that s literally it s job which it does well- In some areas HOWEVER I cannot in good faith recommend a company that made me lose MONTHS worth of work I am a writer I used Samsung Notes for a ton of Worldbuilding Plot development Character info- etc Troomi then decided to remove Samsung notes and Samsung accounts for their phones I wrote to the company and their reply- which was late in essence claimed there were ways to get access to the internet through notes They did not offer a solution That may sound like a valid excuse until you realize there s an even worse breach via Google Docs that was present for over a year which granted unrestricted access to the internet And I used Samsung Notes extensively- I find it hard to believe there was a workaround I didn t know about Also the AI they recently added to monitor texts might actually be one of the stupidest ones I ve ever seen Example My sister did a group science project When she attempted to inform her group that she would get her part done that night the AI flagged it for Suicide To think they re experimenting with an AI Therapist Troodi That will not go well And the Parent side has the ability to see all of the words you text It was an alarming amount of data being collected that even my Mother agreed was excessive and a bit mortifying Getting the apps you need is also a problem- there s no way to get Discord for example and I saw another customer complain about needing Discord for his daughter s school I get that Discord and apps like it are dangerous to young kids but you should be able to apply to be able to use a specific app if you need it Part of this may be a vent but I lost WAY too much when they removed Samsung Notes There was no warning either Not on the kid s side at least I think I have the right to be upset In summary- If you re thinking about using Troomi with an older child- Don t It s not worth it- the bright orange interface and Oops You can t do that messages are embarrassing and it doesn t have the stability or flexibility it should
