"Used to be good going downhill now"

It used to be great but now they are making some really poor decisions in regards to the application flow I hope soon there will be a competitor cause on the last 3 months our forums have been flooded with insatisfaction

"No longer happy with this site"

I used to use Trusted Housesitters regularly as a pet owner and was very pleased with them Recently however I find that when I search for my listing it is very hard to find even when I put in the specific location and approximate dates of the listing I live near Oxford UK but listings as far away as London and Basingstoke appear before mine and I am receiving very few applications for my listing I used to receive many applications for each listing Not at all impressed

"Customer service unhelpful and refund policy ridiculous"

The membership does not have a free trial option so I paid 129 to try it out Once I realized that the site requires you post a picture of yourself and pictures of your home I was uncomfortable with the security risk involved and asked customer support to refund my membership Customer service was not helpful trying to gaslight me into saying everything was safe without answering my questions I had to repeat myself to get actual answers Turns out they do not give refunds if you are active on the website within 14 days What a waste of money

The new reviewing policy is absolutely Terrible It makes it so I don t even want to give reviews at all anymore It s made the site far worse I wouldn t recommend the site anymore based on all the new changes you are making

"I won t be renewing "

I m giving two stars for the service TH provides it started out as a really good win-win-win idea and has led to many happy experiences for sitters animals and owners However where I used to have a really good impression of TH s business model it has recently been fast changing and not in a good way Several changes have been introduced that significantly affect users experience making things more unwieldy to the extent that sits aren t happening that could have People are trying to find work-rounds so that sits are filled but TH has become very controlling and is clamping down on this To make things worse TH have introduced most of these changes without any consultation or any warning Consultation would have been a very smart move as users get how the platform works in practice and warning would have been useful too as lots of users plans were adversely affected with no Plan B And even worse there s a thread on the community forum with over 800 comments many reporting how badly these changes are working in practice but TH have said unequivocally that the changes will remain in place So no consultation no warning no thorough consideration of impact no genuine listening no willingness to act on feedback Two stars feels generous and really reflects the several years for which I was a very happy member I won t be renewing

"Pretty disappointing"

It s very disappointing that when you have a problem you only get to chat with an incompetent AI I sent my review by mistake unfinished and no chance to edit it or erase it to do a new one

"Overlay policy"

We are using Trusted since 2018 We love the app and the opportunity We are a couple with 5 Star reviews and many repeaters Your new policy about no double bookings is bad for couples AND even worse for your so called important owners when they cant book their favorite and trustworthy sitter because there is a 2 day overlay If you stay with this policy you will lose a lot of house owners Just saying answer yes we will carry on but without trusted if its not working Same for the owners

"Trusted Housesitters is good if you re willing to do all the work "

Trusted Housesitters is a good platform to find sitters and many of them are trustworthy but many are not There is little to no support if a home owner has an issue with a sitter while away There support team is unhelpful and irrational If you ever have a disagreement they will not be useful If you are on the fence about joining read the home owner forum on the company site Despite the fact that the company monitors and removes negative comments there are still many reviews illuminating how unhelpful the administrative team is

"Mostly a good experience"

We have enjoyed trusted housesitters for the last 7 year Generally pet owners have been welcoming and friendly with fun friendly pets and clean at times very beautiful homes And the customer support has been very helpful There are red flags to look out for as not all pet sits are ideal We are recently finding a rise in home and pet owners have pets that have been homed during lockdown that have not been socialised or well trained dogs with unsecure gardens ones that bark all the time etc and at times if detailed questions are not asked the owner will not let you know We looked after pets that barked for their breakfast at 7 am every morning and when the clocks changed that became 6 am the owners could not find sitters and we believe that is why they didn t tell us the truth when asked about their dogs behaviour Another issue we are finding often is that beds and mattresses in spare rooms are old or uncomfortable or the curtains allow streetlights in and so good sleep can be difficult to come by at times If you like the pet and or owners it s difficult to mention the small things that made the stay not as enjoyable Overall booking petsits and making arrangements with pet parents as well as receiving detailed guides is straightforward Recently the website has banned contacting or applying for sits when one is already booked Not great if you are a pair of sitters who can split to overlap a by a few days

"Keep deducting money "

I m not an English native speaker and for me it wasn t clear that they deduct money every year unless you cancel the contract I thought I am a meber for one year and when I wanna travel after that I just pay for another year Today I saw that they deducted another 119 and since they are in England I cannot get it back The service is also not really good since they do not allow you to change the review I had a host once who gave me a not so good star rating I was totally shocked She apologized saying she had been in a hurry and clicked on the 3 stars accidentally She contacted the support several times after that asking to change my review explaing what had happened but it took several emails until they changed it IMPORTANT TO EVERYONE YOU NEED TO CANCEL THE MEMBERSHIP I didnt read about that and don t see how many days in advance this has to happen but otherwise they keep deducting money
