Renaissance rules

People cry about the upgrade plans I ve been buying products over about 4 years although have used them many times since early 00 s I saw someone asking for advice recently on a product and he was being recommended a 400 product He had replied it was too much I sent him a link to Waves for a 30 equivalent and he wrote back to me saying the demo worked perfectly and he s going to buy it So people are happy to pay another company 370 more for a single item but cry about having to pay a oner every blue moon for an update to all their plugins I m not sure where people find their logic I own a lot of plugins and if I could only keep stuff from one company it would be Waves Simple interfaces small and don t take over your screen high quality low CPU masses of variety many have side chain options I actually listened to one of my songs from earlier in the year recently and thought I must look at what I ve used because it is one of my nicest mixes Took a look and it was littered with literally just REQ and Rcomp 2x 20 odd year old plugins by them and still my favourite plugins and doing a better job than a lot of my more expensive equivalents I do use stuff from other companies more for mastering but mixing Waves is an absolute destroyer It just has everything you could need Another thing is the same people that cry about Waves will cry about not having loud enough songs whilst completely ignoring that Waves have a number of lovely low level compression tools Everyone can carry on crying about Waves business practices and I ll carry on enjoying the best value for money plugins in existence including many of my favourites The pros still use Waves regularly and there is a reason for that
