Leeds 151 Event
My dad Michael Sutton recently took part in his second White Collar Fighter event This time round wasn t as smooth running as the first one He was paired with an opponent 42 years younger than him the coaches told the people responsible for the pairing that it was the wrong choice but this was ignored My dad had already started raising money for his chosen charity and felt that he couldn t back out of the fight due to already receiving donations Everyone we spoke to at the event was disgusted in the choice of opponent my dad got Dad didn t get seriously hurt but his nose was broken and wouldn t stop bleeding due to him being diabetic so the fight was stopped The right decision was made to stop the fight My mum was distraught and approached one of the staff members who replied with I ve never been shouted at by someone s wife before This was a staff member called Becky Since then I have been contacted by the manager who came across very upset that this had been allowed to happen He said it would be investigated and I would be contacted again I was told we could have 2 free VIP tables for my dads next fight I was told my dad would be able to fight again and this fight wouldn t count for him to enable him to have the chance to go for his belt I made it clear that we didn t want my dads opponent to loose his win I have been contacted again the manager said that the age limit has been dropped to 59 years old and the issue in regards to the pairing has been dealt with and staff have been disciplined but how do we know that My dad won t be able to take part again due to the age limit changing but it might be a blessing in disguise because I dont want him involved with that shambles of a company again To me this is a massive kick in the teeth as it just looks like they can t be bothered to match contenders correctly Not only was my dad robbed of a fair pairing fight the poor lad who was fighting my dad had his night and experience ruined due to no fault of his own We ve been offered 2 tables and some drinks at the next event but what s the point in that when nobody we know is taking part They ve also offered my dad a paid job as a pad man on the nights of all leeds events and training to do it Dad doesn t want any of that On WCF Facebook page they post photos from the event and there isn t one single photo of my dads actual fight there s one of myself and my mum crying whilst hugging my dad White Collar Fighter do not care about the welfare and safety of the fighters I think they ve missed the point of our complaint completely They ve robbed him of a fair fight and any future participation I was told that the second fight could be scrapped to enable my dad a chance of going for his belt A complete joke if you ask me and you ought to be very ashamed of yourselves We can t fault Steve general manager or the MC JJ Bantz for trying to make things right but in the end their hands were tied because the owner made the decision to reduce the age limit It now feels like the rug has been pulled from under my Dad s feet because of someone s incompetence and lack of care he now cannot fight again I didn t express my anger over the phone the second time I got a phone call but I am disappointed in how this has been dealt with and I will be taking it further to ensure anything like this never happens again because I feel like it s just been brushed to one side and not really dealt with

It s good but it s a business
It s a good training session But can get a bit too focused on making money through the add ons It would have been nice to be able to have a fight after attending 8-weeks worth of training I strongly feel 50 for seated tickets and 40 for standing tickets with nothing included in it is a bit high for a fight night like this I think the owner needs to reevaluate the spirit and purpose of the sport People should be allowed to fight based on the efforts and number of session they attend and not the number of tickets they sell They claim this is how they try to raise money for the 8 weeks training course but I am sure they receive grants from the government which help them cover these expenses already Anyhow credit where it s due Steve Ed and Remmy have been really nice and helpful Ohh and not sure what s taken you this long but my charity had asked for two documents to ensure the safety of the event but has not received it yet Chased twice by them and twice by me Public liability insurance for the event as well as insurance coverage for participants Risk assessment for your participation in the event But nvm as we don t need it anymore as I am not paired to fight on the fight night

White Collar Fighter gave us 8 weeks of
White Collar Fighter gave us 8 weeks of boxing training for free which lead to a boxing event where we were paired up with an opponent of similar weight and ability The organisation and support was brilliant throughout and Becky was amazing as our coordinator we were added to a Facebook group where YouTube Videos were posted with training tips how to videos shared and important information given The trainers were really good too they pushed us hard and taught us as much as they could to prepare us for fight night A big part of what WCF do is promote we raise for charity and there is an award for the highest raiser on the night too The event itself was such an enjoyable night my friends and family loved it and it was nice for me to watch people I had become friends with get in the ring fir their bouts It was just such an amazing experience start to end memories that will last me a lifetime
