Avoid this place You will be more stressed afterwards than when you arrived
This place has gone down hill so much I was mis sold treatments and when I complained I was told you got what you paid for The staff are so rude The air-conditioning was put on half way through my treatment without being asked making it very cold and unpleasant At no point have the staff been bothered about my complaints Avoid this place More stressed leaving than when I arrived

One star too many
I m so disappointed with so many aspects of today Firstly when we got to the spa there was no warm welcome The lady took a few minutes before even acknowledging us and acted like she didn t see us even though she had She was miserable as were most of the staff at Whittlebury Hall She then just handed over some forms then told us where the changing rooms were There were no robes or towels in any of the unused lockers When I went back out she said they re in there I went back in they weren t I then came back out another lady gave us some We then had to wait for a few more people before getting a tour I felt like the rooms could have been explained in a bit of detail especially as we d never been before I advised of my dietary requirements over the phone when making the booking but there was nothing that I could have The waiter then spoke to the chef who then made us risotto but really this should have been arranged beforehand rather than us waiting Also we weren t made aware of the tab system so it was embarrassing when I was getting a drink at the bar Really the spa receptionist should have made a point of explaining that We were also looking to upgrade our treatments Again the lady on the treatment reception downstairs was so rude just told us to read the leaflet She then went to find a full price brochure then said she didn t have one We then thought we d go upstairs to find out more they were no more help Instead we were just told the kind of facial we wanted wasn t suitable for our skin type no alternative was offered She was trying to put us off from the outset The showers are ridiculous turn off every few seconds The salt steam room wasn t working many lockers were out of order Overall a really poor spa a really poor experience

Underwhelming
I stayed here overnight on 17th July l it just got worse the longer we stayed there We went for my boyfriend s birthday I wanted to treat him to a fancy hotel and spa break after a tough year it s been an experience we haven t enjoyed Start with the 2 positives The old man who greeted us on reception - what a gentleman And the food and service in astons was great ServiceNow for the less positive It s not cheap so you expect a level of quality a level of service - most importantly good communication Despite saying we ve not been here there we had little information about what was what We turned up at the spa and the service was luke warm I can give you times where staff were chatting to each other rather than service As a guest I shouldn t have to wander to find out info I need Especially half dressed in a bath robe UpsellingYou don t really need to book heat and ice unless it s really your thing Most of the saunas are next to the pool The sun beds get taken up by people who leave a towel in British style to go have a treatment leaving none for me and my fella to relax I paid extra for the special occasion for upgrading room Where this upgrade was I dunno There was no wine in the room as paid promised in upgrade - I went and asked for this and it was brought up I later discovered no water no instant coffee to make a normal cup and mismatched mugs Kinda said it all attention to detail wasn t there You do get robes and slippers which are great if you re a size 6 or below - no good for us To top it off this morning I woke up with bill for the upgrade - underlined When i went down to say I d paid - no apologies I did ask if this was why I didn t get the additional items in the room and he just shrugged - which has summed up my stay Would I recommend you stay here shrug

Avoid this place at all costs
Absolute Shambles Had booked an overnight stay to include the spa On Arrival was told they had no record of my wife s reservation Was just left for 50 mins while they tried to sort it out No apology no update or show of concern just put to one side When eventually they came back to us the start time of our spar treatment had already passed and again with no apology they tried to rush us up to the treatment although we were not prepared This was totally not acceptable we were so stressed and annoyed for being ignored for 50 mins any chance of a relaxing day stay had now gone No sympathy was given by any of the staff Eventually they agreed to us having a refund but we re adamant that nothing else would be given as compensation they acted as though they had done nothing wrong To finish it all off we had to recover our own luggage it was not even collected for us Spent an hour and a half at this place and believe me that was an hour an a half too long It was interesting though hearing so many negative comments from other customers while waiting in the reception area Has to be the worst customer service experience I have ever received I would welcome a conversation and further explanation from the Hotel Manager

booked a overnight spa package I paid for a bag of products for my wife as it was her 50th birthday this was never given to her I ordered a bottle of prosecco with the package to be left in our room this was stolen from our room by the housekeeping staff hotel staff checked CCTV we went down to reception and we were told another bottle would be sent up and this never arrived we were asked to arrive for 9 30am and was told our room would not be ready until 4pm which was way too long so had to sit in the bar for 2 hours as they wouldn t give the room any earlier In the morning when we got up someone had slipped an invoice for 75 for stuff we didn t even have The spa itself was good lunch was ok if you didn t like seafood you didn t have much choice just a cold buffet Dinner was amazing I don t think I would stay here again maybe come for a day spa

What has happened to Whittlebury
What has happened to Whittlebury We came here for a relaxed overnight stay after having a baby and it was chaos Spa was so full we had to just go outside for a drink as there was no where to sit The massage Facial was nice however the minute i walked in there i was asked 200 questions about my skincare routine asking me what ingredients are in the products it was intense Maybe you should ask people before is it okay if we talk to you about your skincare first before hounding people with questions doesn t make this a relaxed facial at all Think they are clearly on Commission to sell their ESPA products I actually thought the lady was really rude My partner who had the same treatment wasn t asked anything are you just hounding the ladies to buy your products It gets worse we were woken up at 3 and 4am to drunk men banging on our door screaming and shouting abusive language Whittlebury just accept young golf partys to get absolutely steaming and run around their hotel like it s a hostel The bill was completely wrong as well adding stuff on the bill we never even had Had to get this amended at the reception desk When we complained they said oh if you just pay another 350 for an overnight stay we will upgrade your room No thanks Think your Guest relations team need to go on a course on how to manage complaints if you want people to return to your spa hotel It s a shame we loved coming here but this time was another level I would avoid

Wouldn t waste your money
Whittlebury spa is a place I have visited a few times now and we have had a really good experience previously yet this time wasn t a good experience at all firstly they never sent out our itinerary I had to phone and chase it up the day before And by that time the spa was closed then we arrived we had a bad day from start to finish and considering it cost 338 for both of us it s not exactly cheap and we left 2hours early My treatment was rough and was meant to be a 50min treatment It only took 30mins I had a dodgy locker and was given a HAND towel not a proper bath towel there was tampon wrappers on the toilet floor ALL day It was loud and unrelaxing overall can honestly say I will not be going back I emailed and complained and heard NOTHING back wouldn t waste your money

Poor service
Customer service appalling and still waiting for vouchers 10 days after purchase Were told they had been sent day after we paid for them and turns out they still haven t been sent yet We ve been lied to and cut off the phone left hanging on the phone Manager won t speak to us either he s too busy Plenty of competition elsewhere

Yes another experience of shocking
Yes another experience of shocking customer service from Whittlebury Hall I was considering buying gift vouchers for a friend s birthday I noticed on the buy a gift voucher page it says gift vouchers can t be redeemed against experiences amongst other things so I looked on the gift voucher offers and terms and conditions page and noticed that it said you get an extra 20 on your voucher if you buy 100 voucher or more No conditions were stated I phoned them to check about the events and asked about the 20 extra I was told that there is no such promotion and it s only a black Friday thing I explained that it was there in black and white right now on their offers page Basically they asked me how I got to the page and then told me off for searching for gift vouchers You can t find gift vouchers unless you search as there is no menu tab Apparently I was expected to look in the legal small print to find out that it was only valid at certain times and apparently not when they advertise it on their offers page They took absolutely no responsibility for their error and would not honour the offer as it was stated It is also pointless talking to a manager All I got was a lecture on how websites work They have removed it now That s the last straw for me the arrogance is astounding

Poor Service
Absolutely disgusted with the service provided I booked an overnight stay with a spa experience a month in advance I was told due to a system error 2 days before they cancelled my reservation Laura dealt with my reservation no compensation or compassion was given Make sure you check your reservation They have now left me in the lurch As I am unable to organise anything within 2 days Great disappointment Service was absolutely atrocious
