Horrible experience
Horrible experience The hotel expanded recently and owner decided to rent rooms which are freshly after construction The room stank with chemicals and despite the staff doing their best to vent the smell it was in vein I woke up with horrible headache coming form sleeping whole night in the chemical fumes which were seeping from the walls and the corridor The greed of the owner who decided to rent the rooms filled with chemical fumes is palpable Not the experience I am looking for when paying 150 eur per night There are many other hotels in the neighbourhood with better price and better experience I do not think I will ever stay in this hotel again The be clear the staff was very nice and did their best to handle the situation It is all fault of the management who took the decision of renting the rooms so prematurely

Lack of compassion
My experience with Zaan Hotel Amsterdam left me deeply disappointed and frustrated Despite facing extenuating circumstances including my travel companion s diagnosis of secondary bowel cancer and immediate treatment the hotel rigidly adhered to their non-refundable booking policy When I reached out to them hoping to reschedule my stay for two nights starting on March 2nd they displayed a remarkable lack of empathy and flexibility I understood the terms of my non-refundable booking but expected some level of understanding and assistance given the gravity of the situation However their refusal to accommodate a change in dates even when I clarified that I wasn t seeking a refund felt callous and indifferent Their offer of a name change for the same date was not only useless but also demonstrated a complete disregard for the circumstances I was facing It left me feeling unsupported and undervalued as a customer during a time of personal crisis In summary my experience with Zaan Hotel Amsterdam was marred by their inflexible policies and lack of compassion I would caution others against booking with them especially if they anticipate the need for any flexibility or understanding in their travel plans

AVOID THIS HOTEL TOTAL SCAM
We booked two double-bed rooms at the Zaan Hotel Amsterdam a month in advance and paid upfront only to arrive and find out they gave our rooms to someone else We had a late check-in after a long flight from the U S arriving at 11 PM and they had no suitable rooms for us The hotel is supposed to be a 4-star establishment near downtown Amsterdam with a rating of 9 2 but it certainly didn t live up to that Instead of the two double-bed rooms we booked they offered us a single-person room at the same price we prepaid They refused to offer us another similar accommodation or a refund We spoke to Anthony at reception who was unhelpful and unapologetic leaving us stranded with nowhere to sleep after a long journey The hotel was already mad expensive and we paid 1 000 for our rooms This is clearly a scam Save your money and avoid this hotel at all costs They overbook and then don t honor their commitments leaving you high and dry Terrible experience Absolutely do not come here

Luxurious and Convenient
My partner and I came to this hotel after booking via EasyJet between the 14th-17th of December The Zaan Hotel made our stay as comfortable and as easy as possible The staff were pleasant and welcoming when we mentioned that our thermostat may be broken they promised it would be fixed and when we came back from dinner it was Our room was cleaned when we requested it and I especially loved the little light buttons you could pressed to request service The bed was comfortable although it was two single beds put together to make a double bed which made it hard to cuddle up during the nights without us rolling into the gap in between The breakfast was lovely though there weren t as many options as I would ve hoped for the price- what was there was delicious though The room was luxurious and the shower was fantastic They also have sockets for UK and American plugs by the TV so if you forget your adapter then it s all good A special shout out to the receptionist Shim who welcomed us warmly and was very kind throughout our stay she spoke fantastic English and was happy to chat with us like we were friends She deserves a raise and commendation

Such a beautiful hotel
Such a beautiful hotel modern spotless friendly efficient staff We stayed 2 nights and were very happy with everything Breakfast buffet was extensive and had a wide variety of vegan food No complaints from us Great value also Location was super with a supermarket across the road train station 2 minutes away bars and restaurants all only walking distance
