Architecture Intern Abroad Florence

Hi I was apart of the Spring 2024 intern abroad program in Florence I had the best time ever I will be honest though the experience is not easy As an intern abroad you have to balance time very well with social life and work life I worked 40 hours weeks most weeks and traveled on the weekends It is exhausting Luckily I had a great group of girls I was living with and we really bonded over our experience in the program and helped each other vent and get through the hard parts The placement I had was the perfect type of internship which is great because I needed the experience Although working in a different countries does have some hardships I am a pretty personable person and the language barrier made it very hard for me to make connections with the people in the office with me a lot of the time they would speak in Italian and I knew very little It felt a little lonely and I have never been in a work environment where I wasn t friends with those who I was working with It definitely became a really tiresome feeling and I dreaded going to the internship towards the end I also did not need credit and was doing this for experience so working as much as I did burnt me out kind of fast I had hoped there was a part time position or option but that was not possible But in all I had a really great time I will say whatever you do on the weekends makeup for the weeks that you may have lows so just keep yourself busy and enjoy being abroad The experience was once in a lifetime and I would definitely recommend

Great Program

I really enjoyed my internship and this program I had an amazing internship experience and got to meet life long friends along the way I would definitely recommend this program to someone who want to have a work experience and study abroad

Florence internship

I had the best time interning in Florence It was such a valuable experience and I would love to do it again I made great memories and friends AIFS and Cassidy Fickes made it easy from start to finish and I always felt supported The social events were also so much fun and I enjoyed getting to know everyone in my program I feel like I learned so much about myself this semester

Going abroad has been fantastic

My experience abroad has been fantastic and something I ll always remember All of the supervisors and staff have been a great help throughout the entire process Getting to know the other abroad students has also been amazing and I now have connections for life I wouldn t have had otherwise Through all of the trips we made and the experiences I got through my internship I m incredibly grateful for the opportunities I ve been given and the memories I ve made here I think the program was well worth it and I honestly can t think of anything I d really change

Internship Abroad - Australia Spring 2024

I absolutely loved the program The internship placement was fantastic and really added value to the whole experience They were organized when it came to the travel plans and the trips included Our on-site coordinator was amazing and cared for all of us as we explored Australia

A Stress-Free Internship Abroad Adventure

I recently had the pleasure of participating in an internship abroad program in Costa Rica organized by AIFS that truly understands how to make a study abroad experience stress-free and enriching From the detailed itinerary to the strong sense of community fostered among participants this program exceeded my expectations In terms of value I believe the program was worth every penny The company not only facilitated relevant internships and accommodations for participants but also organized exciting excursions on weekends allowing us to explore Costa Rica s natural beauty and cultural landmarks Additionally the 24-hour communication maintained by the program staff was exceptional providing peace of mind and assistance whenever needed Overall my study abroad experience in Costa Rica was unforgettable thanks to this well-executed program I would highly recommend it to anyone seeking an enriching and hassle-free international learning adventure

Spring 2024

The AIFS Rome program was an incredible experience The staff were all very friendly helpful and easy to reach out to The program s meal plan was amazing and allowed for students to visit several great restaurants The many day trips and weekend excursions were unique to the program and were some of my favorite parts of the semester I felt like I explored not only Rome but several parts of Italy through the program s many opportunities it offered Some of my favorite activities offered by AIFS throughout the semester included a Roma football match cooking classes wine classes guided walking tours opera night and museum visits The activities made it easy to meet friends within the program and familiarize myself with the city and culture of Italy I only wish the program was longer than 13 weeks but with all the included activities and excursions it was very worth its price The academics were for the most part amazing One of my professors is one of my favorites I ve ever had and class was never boring or unmanageable Many class sessions included field trips As an Art History student I thought that the program s classes for my major were incredible The semester was so much fun Between AIFS s classes and all of their activities I can t think of a single day where I felt like I d wasted my time I would highly recommend this program
