I live in my own flat which DM Hall manage on behalf of the leaseholder I have recently had a problem with ingress of water which required a rooftop inspection of the building and access to my flat The local person from D M Hall managing the flats arranged an inspection for 9 30am which was not convenient I had another appointment and suggested the time of 10 30am but this was not suitable for the manager On the day the local manager rang my doorbell twice at 8am phoned my mobile about 10 minutes later then left an answer phone message and stood outside the flat staring at the windows until I came out for a walk with my dog at 8 30am He then called out to me as I went down the street I have previously complained about his behaviour and to my local MP I live on my own and have owned my flat since 1983 Can you tell me if this sort of management is considered professional by the directors of DM Hall I made it clear that although I would be available on the day he suggested I was not available until 10 30am Does this entitle the manager to disturb me at home at such an early time without prior arrangement I am still feeling angry at the lack of respect and normal consideration for my privacy Although I do want the water ingress problem resolved as it is annoying to have to paddle through a puddle inside my hall in the middle of the night I do think his behaviour on this occasion deserves an apology and should not be repeated

I am not happy with the DM hall survey as they go just with standard copy of report As there was no requirement for EWS form for my property Few other surveyors did carried out survey in the past but none of them mentioned there is a need for EWS form1 for the first time I used DM hall and they did mentioned need for EWS form1 I did remortgage my property in 2021 none of the lenders asked me for it but literally failed why DM hall highlighted need for it in the report

For starters the man who came to do the home report didn t introduce him He was rude to my partner and her motherWhen asked questions about the home report he wouldn t comply or answer questionHe has massively underestimated the value of the property And the hole process just seemed like a chore to him

The Home Report was pushed through as urgent however the surveyor did not remember half of what he had seen and I had to provide the info again Things like reports on woodworm treatment I even ended up cutting holes in the plasterboard in 3 seperate crawl spaces to prove the room in the roof was insulated They seem to have to many jobs to do the job correct first time

I can t believe that I have to report an incident in such a short time again I am an business owner and renting the premises through DM Hall Because of my previous complaint I ve been assured that all the issues with the building will be fixed as soon as possible Nothing happened and the condition of the building is getting worse Yesterday morning we had a brutal flooding through the roof I ve contacted the person that should deal with our building No response yesterday and today Not sure what will happen with the building if it rains again As a paying customer I have to admit that your services are shockingly poor

Terrible service and expensive and no interest on arrival asked them questions about my survey Made a big mistake using dm hall look at the market of local surveyors before you think of using them Poor

DM Hall did a Scottish Home report survey for a property that I subsequently bought The survey said there was 300mm loft insulation There is actually zero insulation under the entire floored area This was obvious without entering the loft Also the impossibility of 300mm of insulation being properly installed within a height of 100mm floor joists because you can t fit 30cm insulation into 10cm of space I contacted them in February 2024 with a full letter outlining the problem and many photos evidencing it and was assured of an investigation which they have subsequently failed to do despite 8 months time and several reminders They are in violation of their own complaints procedure due to ignoring my complaint This affects the accuracy of the home report and funding for the home that I m available for This affects the energy efficiency of the home and makes it more expensive I m disgusted to receive no reply when I believe they are responsible for putting this right Seems like an untrustworthy and irresponsible company to me

Terrible Surveyors avoid in 2024 we paid 3k for a commercial survey on my refurbed Smiddy Museum Chip Shop with Car Parking and two plots of land The young apprentice guy arrived seemed in a hurry spent 20 minutes and valued the property at 65k no mention of museum or loft bedroom or plots Half the value its 4yr previous Shepherds valuation Asked to revisit reassess refused DM Hall anonymous responses are brutal uncaring unprofessional and tottaly unsatisfactory in providing what can only be described as a dreadful and hugely extortionate and tottaly unsatisfactory rip off service

The valuer never asked us any questions about the local amenities and got his information from something called Streetcheck co uk which does not appear to record anything for rural northwest Scotland - they might as well write here be dragons for all the use they were We could have said there are two outlets for groceries in the village and a GP surgery 10 miles away The air ambulance can get us to the nearest hospital within 30mins
