No official transcripts are given

The course is just fine But do not take this and expect to place out of a course for your high school My daughter s high school would not accept her physics course as EDX does not provide an official transcript She is now stuck taking the same physics class over

Cool course TERRIBLE service

Cool course TERRIBLE service I had to cancel the certificate because It would not allow me to verify my account in any way I tried everything But there is no way to contact them Only FAQs because their request submission form is blocked due to an apparent increase in popularity of online education I do not understand how they can be providing expensive certificates if at the first round users are getting plenty of technical issues In addition I also lost all my progress in the course in the moment I bought the certificate and when I log in from other devices they didn t even recognise I was enrolled A shame because the course on CS by MIT was interesting

issue resolution as you are taking

issue resolution as you are taking classes leaves a lot to be desired and needs to be improved Submission of the final capstone was clumsy and difficult Since people were just reviewing it would have been easier to do a submission of PDFs

New technology with an old learning techniques

Note what I am going to review is a course called Embedded Systems Essentials with Arm Getting Started OVERVIEW This course was supposed to give me an introduction to start with the world of embedded systems but instead I got 3 to 4 minutes videos that even a YouTube video can give more facts about the topic than these videos THE EXAMINATION METHODMost of the questions where select one correct answer select all the correct answers for this question and rarely you got a programming question The exam questions especially the selection of one or all the correct answers where far cry from what I have learned And this will deprive you from the curiosity that you had before enrolling on this course

Too many downsides

The course content is pretty good and the delivery methods are good as well I only give 2 stars because first of all you cant receive your certificate unless your peers review your assignments which can take weeks and weeks and weeks They say you can contact staff from the course but they never reply Further the UI design is horrible and partially not functioning when trying to upload ID Also the courses are fairly expensive and you can find the same content on other learning platforms for half of the price So the idea of this platform is great but still requires a lot of work to make it smooth for users

The concept is amazing

The concept is amazing but the courses are boring and unimaginative Like 90 of the courses on there are parts business programmes It would be nice to see a lot more traditional subjects on there It s as if they think that learning is all about optimising profits for whatever company you work for and no other knowledge matters In a sense it is kind of tragic to see what edX has become

Auditing

Ive audited several edX courses I like to complete and submit work and know how I progressed but I don t want a Verified Certificate The last course I attempted - got half way through then - bammo - couldn t submit work for assessment unless I paid for a Verified Certificate Come on edX Tell us at the start of the course if auditing is going to be assessed or not The course is most interesting no complaints and Im going to do the assignments but I do like feedback

Stay away from edX UMGC Micromasters

Just finished edX UMGC Micromasters in ID Legitimately worst experience ever The last course the 400 course imparticular was taught by a woman named Cathy whose email and message tone to students was horrendous I d be fired of I address students like she did The peer review process was at best slow and uneven but at worst downright horrible These folks in this courses literally have no idea what they re doing From the 100-400 courses there was no consistency directions changed all the time Being rated by non-native speakers of English was another great not experience I d NEVER take another course from this organization ever again And I PAID GOOD to be a verified learner too

The EdX courses are good but unfair

The EdX courses are good but need flexibility so that the one who has done more than 50 of assignments as audit could be able to pay and to be able to finish the course Not to cut him off in the middle of the course Education should be a priority here not- business and money You stress and depress people They lose their time and become unhappy Bad decisions of the EdX management team
