The site as a whole is great

There is stress in the content including video but overall it is great When I complete a section that contains video the section often does not complete Also if I skip a place I m watching in a movie movie software often performs strange operations to repeat the same place When I complete content including video on mobile the section is not complete

Have courses here but not 100 satisfied

The site as a whole is great but the quality of the videos greatly differ Some educators are very good and concise whereas some of the educators make it very clear they are over it and want everyone to bug off Between the price and disparity in quality I d recommend Coursera instead The quality isn t necessarily better but at least it s cheaper

The HarvardX Data Science program

The HarvardX Data Science program seemed underdeveloped Courses were launched before they were ready some were half-finished as a result others were delayed months including the tightly-deadlined capstone project causing major disruption to learners TAs were unresponsive on the message board and assessments had major errors in the grading system and didn t account for very differences between R installations that might result in statistically immaterial differences in expected answers As far as the video lectures it was apparent that Dr Irrizarry was reading off a teleprompter and not fully engaged with what he was saying with awkward intonation and emphasis and not fully utilizing the visual medium The course had inconsistent expectations of learners understanding of statistics and calculus sometimes explaining concepts very basically and at other times glossing over graduate-level concepts Some courses had major swings in complexity Data Wrangling could be done in an afternoon while Machine Learning could easily take days or weeks The capstone project was poorly scoped and inconsistently graded edX was only too happy to take my money upfront though Ultimately I learned a lot and feel the professional certificate is valuable and I have no problem working hard to learn a new concept But it felt like I spent more time fighting poor course design than than I was investing in my learning Lesson learned don t take or at least don t pay for a professional certificate course the first year it is offered

I signed up for Basic Spanish

I signed up for Basic Spanish certificate course When I started the course I read somewhere that the course was 7 weeks long but the course information said the course would be ending in 3 weeks I emailed for clarity and Becca responded and told me that the course would end in 3 weeks and offered to switch me to another class I emailed back to get clarity about why the class was ending in 3 weeks when the websites says the course ins 7 weeks Her response to me was basically I offered to switch you to a new class Do you want to switch or not not in that language but that was what she meant She never explained the timing of the class I responded again and asked how do I cancel the class and get a refund Ten minutes later she emailed me back a cancellation receipt with no other response Customer Service agents apparently not be so customer friendly at edX- beware

Good content - poor customer service

In general I am very content with the quality and structure of the courses Two weeks ago I have been offered a refund so I can switch to another course within the same professional certificate path however have not heard anything back since then I have responded twice to accept the offer and for further instructions but have been ignored This is a very poor customer service and I would never have expected that from an institution like edX

Good courses generally

Good courses generally but I noticed that some courses are not clear sufficiently lots of informations in a very short time For example I prefer IBM courses than those of Microsoft

Most of the programs were great and I

Most of the programs were great and I learned a lot However the low score is a result of your customer service and handling of my most recent course I am a part of the Data Analysis November capstone cohort that is still waiting to receive our final grade

Studying in Australia and understood it

Studying in Australia and understood it was through Queensland Uni I paid for a certificate in what i believed to be AUD but it was actually USD so 84 15USD became 129AUD with a currency transfer fee attached So in essence 50 more for a certificate which may or may not be recognized by an employer Pretty annoyed as nowhere was this stated instead EDX rather than except responsibility they have bounced blame back to my bank No transparency be aware

Good freemium

Good freemiumNice courses a bit too informative but with a little bit of practice I started the LLM course and noticed that the business is inside the databricks workspace you need to purchase Everything needs money so even this course does it It is just hidden behind a necessary condition to use the payable databricks workspace in order to make experiments with python code using LLM stuff
