I finished 4 courses

edX is an excellent platform for learning and many courses are at a better level than that of public universities I would recommend everyone to take advantage of edX Regarding edX itself the materials and videos are mostly very good But I would recommend improving the QA forum sections a bit Also the upload system for hand-in assignments should be improved For example it is said to upload multiple files in the assignment but you can only upload one single file for what you need to choose a zip format Either improve towards using zips as standardized containers for hand-ins or make it possible to upload multiple files Nevertheless I really enjoy edX and would like to see a growing catalog of subjects especially in the professional certificate section e g Communication Technology or the micro-master section Because a series of courses always stands out from a single encounter To the edX Team keep it going This is a great project and only by knowledge humanity can advance So take advantage of technology and lets share knowledge with the world

Great Experience Overall

I did the PowerBi Course Analyzing and Visualizing Data with Power BI from DavisonX paid the fee for it as well Overall i was happy with the content and what i got from it I went from knowing nothing on the subject to the point where i was able to build a whole setup at work with the skills i learnt For me i approached the course as a how to rather than degree credits etc So i was less worried about scores etc more that i understood it and how could i apply it There were some points where the video has mistakes and others have clearly flagged this as an issue but nothing has been done about it which is disappointing likewise the videos were better to watch on youtube rather than on the edx native video player For my purposes though the course was good i am confident around using powerBI now I also attempted an R stats course but after auditing it i realised that this was not what i was looking for

Decent MOOC experience but room for improvement

The only problem I faced with document verification The camera was in mirror mode while capturing the photo That s the thing that annoyed me so much In addition courses are good explained well

Expensive

For the most part the online courses are pretty good However some courses have no staff who can help with learning the material Also the remote proctoring software really needs to be better support for Linux and the latest version of macOS being the top issues

Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification

I can understand the courses are quite informative but I think for professional certificates at least the first modules should be free so learners can try it out and see if they fit the needs There should also be a provision for discounts or financial aid like those Coursera provides

thanks for helping

I did my Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification in EdX and it was a good experience You would reminded to resume based on the class category you requested if once a week 3x a week or extensive And at the end of every module there were exercises exams where you will be given 1-2 x chance to answer correctly So it is best to take down notes to get the most of the course So far I was given the leniency I need to finish the course according to the time allotted There were some comments from previous takers where they were asking for the certificate after part 1 As for my experience I have my certificate issued after part 1 The experience was by far good and I learned a lot
