Impossible to use this Tock gift card Been trying for a couple of years and can t quite seem to unlock the secret key Dine-in - nope Wine shop - nope Take out - maybe but only for large holiday meals Ugh We cast a pox upon the house of Tock

Terrible DO NOT give as a gift unless you hate the person

Terrible misleading and useless I received a Tock gift card as a gift and it has been nothing but a headache First we used Tock to make a reservation at a Tock restaurant only to find out that you can t actually use the gift card at the restaurant Makes sense right Tock is intentionally misleading about when you can use the gift card I had to read their terms and conditions to finally figure it out So can t use it at the restaurant figured I d order I m in Los Angeles so they have to have tons of restaurants that will deliver right Nope 3 in my area Ok well let s pick one of those 3 It s 1 2 miles away from me After selecting the restaurant turns out I m outside the delivery area What A mile is outside the delivery area Screw it let s keep trying Change up the restaurant confirm they ll deliver to me place the order and about 20 minutes before it s supposed to arrive Tock cancels the order because we are unable to process the order with the restaurant This is AFTER confirming my order will be delivered Holy crap Tock I don t wish your awfulness on anyone

THE WORST

Even before Tock the dining experience in the states was a hassle At the end of a nice meal nobody wants to deal with math and numbers when trying to split a check Then comes Tock Now not only do you have to deal with the invoice at the end of the meal but now you have an advance invoice to deal with as well You have to pay for your meal in advance before you even step foot in the restaurant Sure I get the concept restaurants are wary of no-shows and want to have a backup plan Well then use OpenTable OpenTable just HOLDS the funds and releases it when the reservation has checked in -- simple Not with Tock No now you have two invoices and the tip from the advance invoice is a line item on the in-restaurant invoice further complicating matters Splitting a bill for just a party of two was a disaster and very complicated to handle without a spreadsheet and WHO WANTS TO DEAL WITH A SPREADSHEET AFTER ENJOYING A NICE MEAL Making matters even worse Tock gorges diners by adding 10 in fees just for booking the reservation something OpenTable does not do For any fine dining establishment to be using Tock is asinine Way to ruin what would have otherwise been a pleasurable dining experience

Greed expecting customers to pay to reserve

Tock charging a 20 service fee for what amounts to an incredibly simple CRUD scheduling app is an outright scam forced upon users Restaurants should heavily reconsider implementing this service as it deters potential customers from making reservations

Awful Awful Awful Unfortunately Chase rewards is using them and I cannot book places I want to dine in It makes me use my points but does not say how many points I will be using so I will get stuck with paying with my points that may be higher than what I want to spend And there is no way to reach anyone That s the worst part I used their chat and the response time it says is one hour Not worth paying their services

Elaborate Scam

We tried three times to use tock Each time they charged us money in advance only for the restaurants to have never heard of tock before and leading to a huge billing issue each time Until now we haven t been able to use our money on tock and there s no way to remove it And all support does is give default answers Fairly convinced their business model is to make the product almost impossible to use so that they people just never use the money they actually have If you like someone NEVER gift them a tock gift card - it s the worst thing you can do to someone
