avoid careful with these guys I contracted them for a website as this was requested by my developer I wasn t happy with the developer and canceled my contract with him but Getspace refused to cancel my contract even tho the domain wasn t even transferred red to them and it was within less than 14 days of signing up

Avoid - prices are hiked to include a set-up fee
Be very aware that this company is a partner company with W-Academy the company who offer to build a free website Starflix is also the same company Do not be fooled into thinking that you are getting a free website The price you pay for hosting with Getspace includes a set-up fee that is not mentioned by W-Academy The only way to get to this information is to go through the small print in the T C s on the Getspace website At no point though does it break down the cost to show you how much of the total is the set up fee - you only find this out on the invoice after payment So if you cancel within the 14 days money back guarantee you will not receive a full refund - even if you cancel before anyone at Getspace has a chance to begin to set up anything The customer service at Getspace is appalling it takes them 10 days to respond to any emails - apart from the automated message advising you it will be 10 days I suggest before you throw away any hard earned money you think long and hard There is no personal touch from Getspace if you try to call any of the telephone numbers listed on the website of W-Academy or Getspace or Starflix you will be greeted with the message this number does not exist or it just continually rings out W-Academy is very keen on calling and speaking to you in the beginning to sell their free website story but trying to get hold of anyone after you have paid and advised you wish to cancel is a waste of time There are many other reputable small business owners out there that can build you a website and point you in the right direction for competitive prices for hosting - a lot cheaper than the 249 for an e-commerce site from Getspace - remember 129 of that is a non - refundable setup fee so you will be out off pocket if you choose to cancel at any point Avoid at all costs

I think I can safely say that other than the time I got mugged having this website done has probably been the worst experience in my life I wish I had read the reviews So if you re reading mine and you haven t already signed up Don t Runaway Save yourself headaches frustration depression money You will never get to speak to a human being I suspect the whole place is run by cyber men because there s no communication at all

Very bad experience with Getspace UK No proper email to write no telephone number to call I did cancel the subscription via chat as they didn t answer via form however was charged anyway The chat is hours of waiting

In 2020 I was approached by WAcademy a sister company of Getspace which has offered to design my website for free Since then I ve been charged multiple times for services I ve never received bought or subscribed to On 30th Nov 227 was taken off my card I ve contacted the bank and was told to contact the company directly and request a refund which I did 4 weeks passed by and after few messages saying allow 10 working days for us to respond I ve just received a message saying you have to turn off subscription in your account which I never had and because 14 days passed since purchase you won t be refunded They fraudulently used my card details and I m glad I informed my bank immediately after I ve noticed Bank has blocked my card and FCA and police are investigating

Where to start I tried to move my domain from another provider to getspace Weeks later it still hadn t transferred Noting that several features from my old provider where not provided by getspace I decided to cancel the transfer I contacted customer service for a refund and they replied saying I had to email refunds getspace uk having done that and sending follow up emails and additional contacts to customer service there has not been any further replies from this company If a company doesn t offer a telephone number for customer service that already says alot Very disappointed at the moment

Avoid They have some serious problems with handling payments I have 3 years hosting plan and a domain Got an invoice for 180 and duly paid it I ve noticed on their website that my payment was not registered Contacted them using a chat option and reported the issue They confirmed that payment was received and changed the invoice status to Paid 2 weeks later my PayPal account was charged 180 automatically for the same service Sent an email requesting the refund received an auto-reply that they will get back to me within 10 business days The very next day they suspended my account and blocked my website because of unpaid bill Chatted with them again they apologized and unblocked the website The situation was repeating for 3 days in a row They block my website I complain they unblock Hardly fun experience especially when you understand what every minute of blocked website costs you On the third day the responded that they found a glitch and it should not happen again And yes 3 weeks later I still didn t get my refund I could say that it might be a coincidence and it was really a glitch but the same things happened to me a month ago when I paid my domain invoice I had to contact them to register my payment and instead got charged twice They told me to send an email to get a refund Which I did and 2 weeks later got my money back But it was only about 10 So if you don t want to spend your time fixing issues having your website down with no reason and being charged for the services that you didn t get look for the other company
