Oxford Open learning has been very helpful with good communication The tutors are proactive at keeping in touch and setting deadlines I would recommend that one thing that needs changing is the way the student is helped to understand a certain problem or module they are struggling with Some students will benefit better from talking about their work or lack of understanding verbally rather than trying to make sense of it on their own using the links videos that are sent to them

My daughter took History IGCSE through Oxford Open and we found the service and process very smooth Her tutor Steve was very helpful and we had regular contact with him throughout Despite exams been cancelled she got a 9 due to doing very well in the regular marked assessments

Oxford Homeschooling filled the gap with needs students who feel unhappy in some main stream schools It is also a solution for parents who are concern with their children being bullied in their school From the time when my son started up to now I have recommended a number of parents and given them the contact details of the school

My son did 4 GCSEs through OOL as a bridging year after moving to the UK from USA We were pleased on the whole The course materials were very good as were the tutors Feedback was quick and tutors available by email or phone The biggest plus was the bank of assessment evidence that naturally accumulate through the way OOL works which means that when time came for TAGs because of cancelled exams my son had everything in place He did not need to sit extra exams I would definitely recommend OOL for home schooling

The courses are well-written interesting and absorbing They are written in a way that speaks one to one with the student Lovely tutors approachable intelligent and supportive I have given 4 stars rather than 5 because I think the following improvements could be made - Some of the wording is a bit intense for less articulate intellectual students of 14-16 years old who may get a bit lost along the way - More colour would be more appealing for younger students- A number of the links and case studies were missing and or not up to date A lot of time was wasted and needless confusion ensued trying to find them or compensate for their absence I feel the courses should be proof read annually and updated where necessary We would use OHS again

Very good support overall We are abroad and some of the telephone calls were a bit problematic technically call not being received although the tutor then confirmed that they called bad sound etc but managed to catch up on everything essential Please with the support and result

My daugter studied GCSE Maths at OOL She had one of the outstanding Maths teachers any parent could wish for Caryl Jones is the name of the teacher who supported my daughter throughout her learning A truly amazing human being I d recommend her to parents with professional commitmnets like myself To any aprent out there who have a self driven child OOL is the place to send your child for better education Caryl Jones is one reliable teacher available to students questions via email and telephone she ll keep both parents and children up to date with school activities as well My daughter has passed her GCSE Maths at OOL unlike her cousins who failed theirs in mainstream schools due to the pandemic I ll am ever so greatful for the existance of Oxford Open Learning From a greatful parent

The resources are fantastic The admin and the asigned teacher are Hannah and Tina very helpful with information as well as guidance The reason I gave 4 stars my daughter started with OHS just 2 months and has completed her first TMA she has more time to go Overall my daughter enjoys doing business studies and done very well in the first TMA

The module contents are good and cover quite a wide range of learning areas in the subject GCSE Psychology I would say you have an even better experience of study if you have a very good tutor The tutors are good some better than some in my view Nevertheless we are happy with ours One who will regularly reach out and keep good eye on how things are going Also who is willing to give a bit more of their time I have had 3 tutors in different times and note differences in their approach and time giving At the same time you do have to ensure your child is getting the work done Oxford would be even better if they somehow gave online tutorials for each subject once or twice a week for perhaps 40 mins or so Most importantly my child does enjoy it The subject is very interesting engaging If anyone is doing PHSE KS3 these are also really good lessons

It was an overall great experience Some teachers are excellent in communications and have given us extremely good feedback on the other hand some teachers are not as involved as others but overall its a good form of schooling
