Not Worth the Money

The idea of matching mentors with potential research students is great But the fact remains that research is self-driven from students who are interested in learning more about a field It is not worth 3000 to be automatically matched with a mentor who may not be able to give their full support or interest It s more valuable to do independent research and seek a mentor when it is needed Polygence s program isn t a truly valuable experience with its limited support through the digital platform It s impossible to do any valuable lab work and most research papers end up as literature reviews Polygence was not a worth-it type of experience that was truly life changing for its price

As a parent I didn t get any feedback from the mentor or the team Communication with parents is not sufficient

Mediocre guidance for first research paper

The mentor did good job getting paper started but wasn t very helpful once the paper was started in organizing the material and adding any comments Other people who have reviewed the paper have agreed that it could be better organized to read better This was my first research paper so better guidance would have been appreciated

The company provided a great opportunity for my daughter to come up with a research paper on a topic that she is interested in and provided her opportunities to showcase her paper as well

I really liked the mentor they helped me get through my project a lot It is costly but probably worth it

1st Project Experience for young kid

Our mentor did a great job of guiding my child through the project procedure and breaking down complex concepts The mentor encouraged my child to think critically which was helpful in boosting their confidence and skills However I felt that the overall experience could have been slightly improved by increasing the current limited involvement of parents especially for younger kids While promoting independence is important I believe that some level of parental engagement is necessary to reinforce learning and provide additional support

I enjoyed the structure and how the program guided me However it still allowed for creativity as well
