Roomrs seems te be like any other website for short term lease but that impression is deceptive I emailed them couple of times and even set up a videocall to receive more information on the listings they are offering First they used to show up late on the calls and or reschedule them on short notice Second during the call you do not get any more than just empty words There was no time for proper introduction of the company or any explication of the whole process Third their staff is responding very late or even ignoring subsequent questions Overall I do not recommend Roomrs if you value your time Try one of the competitors instead

They try to trick you with the rooms they tell you that you get one and then they try to give you another that is half the size of the first for the same price without explicitly mentioning it Also they change the prices of the rooms from one day to the next 200 for example and when you ask for clarifications they just pretend that it never happened After all this I decided not to rent a room from them and I asked for a refund you have to pay a membership fee to start the application process and they tell you that it is refundable if things don t work out I asked for the refund one month ago and I still haven t received any money and they just keep on telling me that they issued it but when I ask for proof they just stop responding to me Stay away

Roomrs facility was amazing and made my move into a real apt seamless and for that I highly recommend It was clean well kept and highly accessible The furnishings were updated and spacious

As COVID cases were going down I moved back to New York to find a job Things were uncertain for me and I didn t want to get into a longer lease Hence I picked Roomrs They provided shorter lease options 3 month minimum and were very supportive as I was finalizing the apartment from a different country They also have good alternatives if you don t have a credit score guarantor So all that hassle is taken away The customer support was great as well They always got back to us within a day In my 7 months staying at rooms I only faced one problem- the heaters were not working for a few days Although they were fixed but they took a week to do it However I was reimbursed for a space heater that I got The apartment was very aesthetically pleasing nicely furnished and had monthly cleaning service too- which made it easy for me Overall it was a great experience with Roomrs

My roomrs experience was all I expected and more Most notably I had wonderful roommates in the perfect location It was indeed fully furnished with almost all necessary appliances provided My room was a good size and had massive closets too The cleaning service once a month was a nice bonus as well At one point my toilet did break off the wall due to poor design and there was not much light in the kitchen or common room due to the strange layout However my overall experience with roomrs was good and just what I needed

Process from virtually touring the space signing the lease to leaving there was really smooth Really enjoyed my stay there One con for me was the monthly cleaning - the company they hired isn t really good on that end Felt like the apartment still wasn t clean even after they came in after in for one

I had a great overall experience with roomrs The fact that I lived with a bunch of other young adults essentially doing the same thing I was doing made for the perfect summer stay We were all in the city either working summer jobs or in summer classes so we used our space at the roomrs apartments to lay our heads at night or chill during the weekends There was no added pressure for everyone to be best buds But everyone was cordial we did a decent job of sharing the responsibility of common space chores Roomrs has this great cleaning service where people will come once a month clean your bathroom common space they were God sent when things got busy for everyone in the apartment The only con I could think of was our issue with the shared fridge not working one weekend But roomrs was very quick to respond this was more of an apartment issue rather than a roomrs one but they did still helped us out by relying the message All in all I would definitely reccomend roomrs to people looking for places to stay

I lived with Roomrs for a year I m really glad I found this company They welcomed me with open arms when no one wanted to accept a student from a foreign country during the epidemic as their tenant With an amazing location a furnished apartment and all the necessary facilities laundry machine rooftop and a dishwasher the living was perfect for my first experience in NY and gave me peace of mind as a student not to forget their customer service who got me answers back within minutes

To me Roomrs was the perfect temporary home Moving abroad can be scary Especially when you hear stories of a broker fee and parents not being accepted as guarantors because their money isn t on American bank accounts Not even mentioning arriving after a long flight to no furniture all of that I didn t want With Roomrs I had a new apartment with a nice interior a dishwasher a washer and dryer and 5 other roommates to easily get to know people in the new city And the location was perfect for me as well I loved living here problems were fixed fast and easily and the kitchen living room was cleaned every month I would definitely recommend Rooms to my friends

I had an excellent time working with Roomrs It made my move to New York City exceptionally easy and removed many stressors that come along with moving to a big city I loved not having to worry about buying furniture or dishware while already having so many things on my plate Additionally the customer service was very efficient and attentive Although I didn t face many challenges throughout my stay the minor ones were always addressed in a timely fashion I m sad to see my time with Roomrs end because of all the benefits but very happy to have found them and would recommend them to anyone looking for an easy move to any city
