Things just don t work with Vocal
I recently signed up for the Vocal account and aside from their formatting tools being useless my stories do not share well on social media Links are inconsistent and lead to their sign-up page instead of my stories I have sent two messages to their help desk in the last 24 hours and have been ignored Unless things change soon I will not be renewing my membership and will share my experience with the world

Ignore the people giving good reviews They are either so unintelligent they can t see through the scam or willfully being dishonest The site is a complete joke Never let your work be judged by people with no skill or pedigree Nobody judging has any talent or credentials They re just gays and lezzers from San Francisco An even more woke version of buzzfeed

They say they don t allow multiple
They say they don t allow multiple submissions to contests when clearly they do and usually those people have won in my experience It is a popularity contest and a mediocre writitng platform nothing like what anyone who wants to be a writer would value in my opinion Snarky customer service people Also I am suspicious that the judges don t even have access to half of the entries to contests because not a single human being that works for Vocal has EVER given feedback or anything I think it s rigged I deleted my account

They don t read submissions
The contests are a complete joke They pick ridiculous winners with entries riddled with spelling errors and one winner didn t even abide by the word count It s a giant waste of time and they clearly don t have the manpower to read every submission so they select winners at random or have some poorly formulated algorithm do it it s unreal If they truly selected the winners they have no grasp of writing mechanics I d also suggest they give one or two sentences on why they are giving that piece thousands of dollars

Poor business model Sketchy judges Nothing literary
The most recent Vocal com winning stories were straight up hack writing at its worst with transparent prose many mistakes and they were literally painful to get through One didn t even follow the story prompt of waking up on an actual runaway train I would say this is a scam where people pay to play and also build audience in order to win because the actual writing is subpar Would like a refund of my membership fee and to never visit this sad site again

I haven t been able to log into my account for months now maybe even a year Every time i email support they don t respond I m annoyed because I have small funds on my wallet over there but I m just gonna switch to Medium
