They were really helpful and responsive before the mortgage application was submitted When they submitted the application for me they sent me a copy of the docs and I realised they messed up the door number I d expect they d double check with me before submitting wrong info to the lender They also don t reply my email anymore after the application was submitted and they didn t update me as to why the lender took so long to give out the offer Eventually we found out the application was put on hold by the mortgage lender because they were given a wrong post code This is truly a disappointment and caused delay for no reason I completely understand there could be human error or typo but I d expect they d do checking before submitting the docs or at least reduce the delay by regularly following up with the lender instead of not knowing the lender had put this on hold

Do you want inadequate service a lack of experience unresponsive mortgage brokers late replies no action NO APOLOGY and LOTS of hard credit searches Then We Are Mortgages are GREAT If not AVOID We Are Mortgages My recent experience with We Are Mortgages has been incredibly disappointing and frustrating and not only have I been left financially worse off but my credit file has been negatively impacted with excessive hard searches and my score has now dropped I now need to re-evaluate the situation I feel compelled to share my experience to caution others and AVOID We Are Mortgages as they have been reluctant to offer any further support or remedy to improve my situation since paying the 500 admin fee I engaged with We Are Mortgages to apply for a mortgage on my first property however my experience has been far from satisfactory Here are some key issues I have encountered 18 HARD searches in total 15 from ONE lender an additional 40 OTHER credit searches Submitted a mortgage application with inaccurate information Unresponsive to emails and phone calls repeatedly apologising for back to back with meetings all day only calling after 5pm and no update for days No remediation acknowledgement of issues or apologyDespite raising these concerns with Management Jack Founder I did not receive any immediate remediation or acknowledgement of the issues Instead I am currently in an ongoing complaint to resolve these matters months after they have occurred And better yet I am still in a worse position both from a financial and a credit file perspective My credit file has received hard credit searches for THREE calendar months with an additional hard search over a month after an unsuccessful application with inaccurate information This service is unacceptable and paying the admin fees is unwarranted I have received better support and service from other mortgage brokers that do not charge a fee You simply cannot justify paying the admin fee when your service is substandard Especially since the mortgage broker is asking the client what the next steps are and which lender we could use this is worrying as they they should possess the experience to support and find a potential solution I urge We Are Mortgages to take a moment to really reflect and review their customer service and processes you do not possess the experience you claim if a customer is left negatively impacted after using your service months later It s also quite surprising that We Are Mortgages are quick to judge other mortgage brokers and solicitors for their customer service yet their service has been by far the worse I have experienced

Positive start but failed to deliver Did not take our situation seriously and the level of service lessened as time went on I have used several brokers in the past so know a lot about what level of service professionalism and outcomes Unfortunately in this case with this particular individual he could not deliver the product we asked for and also what he told us he had got for us which ending up with us losing the property we had an accepted offer on As a result this is why I low scored and would not recommend I will not name as I have spoken to him personally and he knows how I feel and how disappointed I am

Things started off well with Jack at We Are Mortgages and the first couple of weeks were hopefully However pretty quickly Jack stopped replying as frequently even after asking quite a few questions He would sometimes take more than 2 weeks to reply to a simple question As first time buyers we genuinely didn t know a lot of processings and terminology so this was dissapointing Once Jack did reply he was always very nice to speak to but the attentiveness just wasn t there for us and we went to The Mortgage Library who we ve had a brilliant experience with

During the search for a mortgage they were really helpful and very solutions focused and this continued until this was finalised They also spoke to me about insurance but then seeemed to loose interest in this once the mortgage was secured

Jack and Emma kept me informed and worked hard to get the sale through

Positives are great customer service and a friendly team Negatives were it took a little while to source a suitable mortgage and it was a bit pricy I would recommend overall

I would reccomend we are mortgages as the service we received was really good Always polite and friendly Very on the ball and keen to help Everything went through quickly with hardly any hiccups The office although very well presented was far too loud The music and the layout meant you could hear other staff phone conversations etc in the back ground

Good points Successfully found me a mortgage at the age of 80 plus at the second attempt Encouragement given at every stage Not so good point Need to check paperwork - tendency to copy previous documents without amendment
