Where is the aftercare

Very affordable treatment and a lovely staff team They really make you feel comfortable and reassured when examining and their enthusiasm really shows they love what they do However if you are not clued up on ivf then a lot of information is not given to you and I often felt confused The timings of oestrogen tablets Why scanning differs - I had both fresh and frozen and was scanned different amounts I don t know what is the norm for other clinics I would like to add PGT not once mentioned and again as a newbie to IVF I didn t think to ask The clinic should offer this info to all patients even if it is an additional cost embryologist communication e g why a 3 day transfer was fine but when I wanted to freeze a same quality embryo it was argued it wasn t worth freezing as unlikely to be viable So why did they transfer one exactly the same then The clinic have called to discuss this and I am awaiting answers And communication issues post cycle The clinic have discussed this with me and advised it is up to patients to contact them However I do feel a courtesy call or check in is needed - especially for patients with negative results I have not been offered any info on counselling and I had to be the one to pick up the phone when I was strong enough 3 months later to ask for a follow up consultation after my first failed cycle This needs addressing Just check in with patients post cycle it really is needed I did feel pressure to start a new treatment cycle straight after the consultation clinician mentioned possibility of cysts forming if left too many months but I refused This again is a communication issue as was contacted about payment and had to tell them I am not starting treatment Frozen cycle meds much calmer and I understood what was going on obviously much less complex I was given 1 x scan for triple layer thickness clinic has since confirmed this the norm This cycle worked and I got a positive but was told my HGC was low and told to take another pregnancy test just continue meds and will be seen at 7 week scan The clinic should have explained in detail that a HCG of 50 is unlikely to be viable I wish they had told me this checked bloods again to see if levels were increasing etc and not let me wait till 7weeks I couldn t wait By week 6 I had got myself into a right state and booked a private scan They confirmed chemical pregnancy Having informed the clinic they told me to stop meds and can confirm with blood test for additional 50 THAT WAS IT No follow up no counselling and no explanation on what can be done differently My private clinic were the ones to check again a week later not ectopic and no tissue remained Post review the clinic have since called to apologise for their response to my FET which I am thankful for I do hope communication is improved and there should be more aftercare post cycle and especially if when miscarriage occurs ABC should ensure they check in with patients to make sure they are ok and have their follow up end of treatment appointments I still have frozen embryos with the clinic and am not sure I ll continue here I do however appreciate the time the clinic made to call me and discuss my issues post review and I do hope my review helps others make an informed choice

Abc - No good for us

So it s taken me a while to write a review for ABC ivf I ll start with the positives The Nurses at the Oxford clinic always came across as lovely and professional and I felt I was treated with compassion and dignity at all times when having my scans I ll cut a long story short basically I ovulated before egg collection Being told throughout that my ovaries were very busy and I ll get at least 14 eggs and then again told on day of egg collection it looks like I ll get 9 eggs Then when I had egg collection my Right ovary had ruptured there was free fluid in my ovary and pelvis indicating I had ovulated They did manage to get 4 eggs but 3 immature and the 1 mature failed to fertilise I was told at that time that I may have had a reaction to the buserelin I had triggered with My trigger was changed last minute because apparently I was at risk of OHSS My partner and I were obviously devastated and wanted some answers as to why this has happened and we would want to prevent it if we ever decided to go through IVF again We were basically told it happens and that s it We were offered 250 off another cycle with abc if we wanted to go again but we declined as we had lost all faith in them I just want to point out to others who are thinking of going with abc because it s affordable It s 2500 for IVF if you get 1 embryo and it s a fresh transfer If you re lucky enough to get more that 1 embryo then it costs about 1000 to freeze your embryos If you re lucky enough to get 1 embryo but you need to have it frozen because of OHSS and then put back via a frozen transfer then you pay 2500 if ivf - ICSI costs more 1000 to freeze then another 775 to have your embryo put back in Other costs to think about with abc is the consultation partner analysis some blood tests are chargeable also ABC promote that they are affordable but after research they are in-fact not that cheap if you add it all together and compare to other IVF clinics Also there doesn t seem to be updated statistics for there success rate - something to think about ABC works for many couples Maybe we were just really unlucky but after they had our money and it failed we were pretty much forgotten about and I felt as if they didn t care that I had either had a reaction to the trigger or i was the 1 100 women this happens to that was said at one point too if it were my company I would want to know why this happened and would try to ensure my customers felt although the outcome wasn t what they wanted at least knew why they didn t get the result they wanted

Disastrously disorganised IVF clinic

Was with ABC Harley Street and had my egg collection embryo transfer done at their sister clinic Create St Paul s Both clinics are rather disorganised and at some points it turned into a comedy of errors eg A nurse miscalculated the amount of medication I needed for the IVF and I was told to buy more boxes of meds than I actually needed so I overpaid at Harley St staff failed to do their job of simply locking the door before the ultrasound scan vaginal examination was to begin and a doctor failed to knock and check before entering the room whilst I was lying half naked waiting for the scan to begin so I ended up exposing myself to her and we all got a fright The doctor apologised profusely afterwards but frankly this could ve all been avoided if either the nurse doctor had done their part for patient privacy but in my case neither had done what was needed There was also a case of a patient embryo mix up The day before my embryo transfer a clinician embryologist called me to inform what time I should arrive for the procedure but had mixed me up with another patient Was told that just so you know we are using an untested embryo this time - which was confusing because I had never asked or paid for any of my embryos to be tested Asked the clinician if they had mixed me up with another patient who did have their embryo tested Clinician promptly apologises for the mistake but again it s just poor reflection on both clinics Very unprofessional I can only hope they d used the right patient s embryo during the procedure Also note that the staff will try to pressure you into opting for a medicated FET instead of a natural FET because by their own admission the medicated route makes their job easier even if it doesn t necessarily help the patient So do your own research and decide which is better These are just the highlights of my experiences with both clinics There ve been more snafus but let s just say it s been an unpleasant experience overall Agree with previous reviewers who flagged the utter lack of aftercare as well Would not recommend ABC There are much better clinics out there

I started off my journey with lots of

I started off my journey with lots of excitement mixed emotions and excitement for what the future holds for me and my husband From the scans and blood work the messages have been really mixed Although the clinic is not all bad there are some very caring staff My experience has unfortunately been really negative from day dot Mixed messages from scans and lack of communication at the commencement on my treatment I feel the clinic is really nurse led and not very much input from consultants which isn t always a bad thing but again lack of continuity between staff each visit and differences of opinions doesn t help the patients treatment I also found confidentiality an issue which was really disappointing having my case compared to another s in the next room This isn t something I would normally do but I would really hate for another couple to go through the poor experience we ve had with abc ivf in wilmslow Having had a failed ivf cycle first time and egg thaw unsuccessful at the thawing stage I still haven t heard from the company over a week since my difficult news They state they offer counselling but I have received no after care This isn t a negative review because I haven t become pregnant it s far from that It needs to be a learning curve for abc to acknowledge that people are spending thousands of pounds for their care and support and I feel let down and like I haven t received that support Please seriously consider before you use this clinic unfortunately it s something that will stay with me

I have very mixed feelings about my

Update 21 07 23 I ve now had a productive call with the clinic where they acknowledged my concerns empathised with my experience and said that they have looked into the issues raised I ve been told thatthey are reviewing some of their processes and providing training to improve communication going forwards I ve outlined what I think needs to change what would have resulted in a better experience for me I m hoping my feedback was constructive and will help them provide a smoother and less stressful experience for others going forwards and for me if I do end up doing another FET with them I m pleased that they took the time to listen and that they seem to want to improve Now time will tell I have very mixed feelings about my experience with ABC The communication was probably the most frustrating part Sometimes my emails wouldn t be responded to for 10 days until I complained on social media and their marketing lady got involved and helped me chase it up I d try and get hold of my coordinator on the phone and was told so many times she d call me back but wouldn t get a call I also felt very disappointed after my why transfer failed meetings I was told they d review my case beforehand at panel level but during the first why transfer failed meeting the nurse asked if I ve ever had my thyroid checked which told me they hadn t looked at my file at all as I m under endocrinology and get my thyroid and other hormones checked every 6 months and had sent them all my blood results from the last two years When I had my 2nd why transfer failed meeting the nurse wasn t aware of what we were supposed to be discussing so nothing had been reviewed prepared ahead of the call She did go away and come back with answers to all the questions I had though and a plan going forwards I also found it very frustrating that they wouldn t allow me to do thrombophilia testing until after 3 failed transfers even though I was going privately so instead I found another place that would do it and based on those results clexane was then added to my protocol I had 3 cancelled medicated FETs with them in a row and was on burserelin for over 50 days in total begging to be changed over to a natural protocol but it wasn t until after 3 cancelled months that they made the change By that point I was mentally and physically exhausted I also had problems with prescriptions not being sent to the pharmacy or receiving less meds than I needed and had paid for because the number of vials requested didn t add up with the pharmacy s packaging and they couldn t over-prescribe I contacted the clinic but didn t hear back for days so in the end I contacted the pharmacy instead to understand what had happened and to try and get it resolved I also had symptoms of asherman s barely any periods since a D C 2013 and on my first ultrasound with ABC I was asked if I had ever had a C-section which I haven t as some scar tissue could be seen I kept asking if it could be asherman s and if I should have a hysteroscopy but because my lining was thick they didn t recommend it until after my 2nd failed transfer which like the first one was very painful and we could feel that the Dr was actually hitting something Trying to arrange a hysteroscopy with them was an extremely painful experience and in the end I told them I d find somewhere else to have it done as there was no way I wanted to do it with them anymore I ended up going to another clinic and it turned out 30-40 of my uterus was closed up due to scarring Once that was removed I fell pregnant within 6 weeks With that said the nurses at ABC were always amazing One in particular who always advocated for me and was my rock throughout the failed and cancelled transfers Because I ended up having so many scans going through one fresh round two transfers and 3 cancelled transfers I got to meet all the nurses at my clinic and they were all so lovely and I really think they had my best interest at heart and were caring and knowledgeable I think if ABC sorts out their admin and communication issues their customers will have a much better experience I still have some frosties with them but the thought of dealing with this clinic again gives me a tummy ache as I ve spent so much time being frustrated with them

Great Clinical team but totally let down by the commercial coordination team

Unfortunately our experience has been a mixed one with ABC If I was writing this review based purely on the clinics and the clinicians we have dealt with through this process we would be leaving a 5 star review We have been through our first cycle of IVF with ABC and throughout the process from a clinical stand point we have felt well cared for and in safe hands The other side of our review accounts for the unacceptable service we ve received from the coordination team once the payments are made you become a number lost in the system and find it nearly impossible to get hold of anyone in the admin and coordination team The Key issues we encountered were Availability of appointments for scans we registered at the St Albans clinic and were told before treatment started that our scans would be conducted there and then the procedures for egg collection and transfer would be at another site In the first week of scans we went to 2 different sites both of which were a 3 hour round journey as there was no availability at the clinic When we raised this with a consultant she was able to get us appointments at the clinic showing that there was availability but there was something not working with the booking process We were not effectively walked through the process regarding freezing of our embryos the consultant on the day of our transfer spent over an hour trying to get hold of someone in the coordination team to talk us through the costs and options without his kindness on the day we would have had no-one there to answer our questions Our biggest frustration has been the follow up process following our failed cycle We called the clinic and emailed our coordinator as directed yet again we experienced two very different approaches We received a call from the nurse the same day and a follow up clinical consultation the following day I messaged or called to request a call from our coordinator every day that week to try to arrange our next clinical follow up and set up our next cycle it took 5 days before we heard from her When we did hear we were left in the dark about lots of our pricing questions and the follow up process We don t feel like the coordination has been acceptable This is a very emotional and tiring experience we would have expected more from the coordination team in regards to walking us through the process and following through on actions We will be continuing with ABC for our next cycle but this is based solely on our experience with the clinical team

Disappointed in this clinic

I feel really disappointed in this clinic especially after spending 4000 for a service Everything has been rushed from start to finish When we went for our first consultation we were harassed for weeks to pay up for the full treatment even though we told them we need time to gather the funds Once we paid we got left alone which was disappointing as this was the time we needed them the most Being the first time i have had ivf we knew nothing and didn t feel it was very well explained The egg retrieval was quite a rushed day and lots of medical info that we did not understand would have been good to have had someone explain this better The embryo transfer day was super rushed as they asked us to come in earlier 2 hours before our appointment when it takes us 2 hours to get there I felt quite disappointed had zero after care zero calls even the treatment sheet they send makes no sense I haven t even had a failed cycle and I wouldn t recommend them the stress was too much for all the money we paid Maybe go that little bit more expensive for the better treatment Just my opinion

Honest review

Honest reviewCurrently going through reciprocal IVF and as a couple we have had a few set backs While I acknowledge every person responds differently to IVF I feel like we have been left in the dark regarding future plans being transferred across to Create fertility no rational as to why and being vague regarding additional costs for scans It has been exceptionally difficult time and the lack of clarity regarding above is adding additional stress to us as a couple
