Communication

My daughter tried to email regarding a purchase No communication recieved Stella was 12 Paid and then refunded so she purchased a replacement only for a few weeks later to have money deducted again and the original book sent out took over 2 weeks to arrive I ve just sent back for a refund for her She s annoyed as it s her card payment from what little she had no response from Blackwell s and I ve read it takes over 10 days for refund to show once you recieve the book which I have to pay to return to you

Counter intuitive is alienating

Normally in an online transaction all movement through the buying process ends on the bottom of the page this then culminates in the numbers part of the process which then in turn leads to the choosing of the paying process namely debit or Paypal Then a bank choice if debit All of which logically speaking is still on the bottom of the page Blackwells however goes back to the top of the page and needs a click in a box which opens up for the address and banking data This is not a logical or intuitive process as laid out

Book was damaged as a result of being

Book was damaged as a result of being sent in flimsy Jiffy bag which had been crushed by heavier items and rough handling in transit c o Whistl Will not be ordering from you again unless you use a better means of packaging and more conscientious courier Doubly depressing as the book was to be a present

Don t checkout without an account Can t track order

The company allows you to checkout with Paypal without having created an account Later I heard you get no Paypal ref number for transaction as evidently that only happens as items are dispatched I created account with exact same shipping info I raised a ticket asking for them to associate the order to my account They said they couldn t do this Since no books had been shipped and without an account there is no way to track the status of your order I found this to be a totally unsatisfactory state of affairs I had no Paypal ref number and had to talk to my bank and relay my issues I have had email confirmation of cancel but what a palaver I went elsewhere like Amazon eBay and ordered my 7 books What a total waste of my time They had just sat on things and the fact they couldn t associate my order number to my account beggars believe Terrible system Not a company I would want to deal with again I don t even have a ref number to Paypal since no part of my order was shipped- so I will have to monitor for double payments now too Thanks for nothing PS I work in I T So I know how trivial it is to update a customer number on an order header From an auditing perspective all account details matched my order - so adds a little bit to the mix but it s really straightforward

Put order in October 31 and only got

Put order in October 31 and only got one of the books after 4 weeks Having a hard time getting through to costumer service as I don t have an account No info or news on the 2nd book I ordered and haven t received I hope it will be fixed soon as im hoping it could be a new site for book orders after book depository closed down and I never had any problems with that site

Ordered on 23 11 and on 24 12 still not

Ordered on 23 11 and on 24 12 still not received order in time Emailed on 12 12 and was told was awaiting a delivery and would need to source elsewhere but within an hour or 2 get a confirmation that it has been dispatched 2 weeks later and still no product received

Not very user-friendly when it comes to purchasing

The system kept kicking out my postcode so I was in a computer says No situation Then after choosing PayPal I kept getting a red message saying I had to use a different bank card which was stupid I had clicked on a link to buy a particular book and that part worked OK although the Add to cart and Added to cart boxes do look very similar so I nearly bought the thing twice

The Customer Advisor did not listen to

The Customer Advisor did not listen to what I said to her at the outset given that it was simply a general enquiry and therefore it did not relate to an existing order however we wasted a lot of time searching for details i e please can you tell me the address of where the order is going about an order that did not exist

Two week delivery time

I was gifted some vouchers to use which could only be redeemed with a limited number of online retailers so ordered some business books which then took two weeks to arrive yes two weeks Not quite the service and delivery times I would expect from my normal supplier but perhaps I can see why they have become so big

website tries and possibly succeeds in

website tries and possibly succeeds in saving card details this is a very annoying and underhand way of doing things I shall search alternative websites first next time Is that clear enough Doing anything by stealth really puts customers off
