This site is a complete scam It leads you through a process believing that you will pay 1 00 for your report Instead without you checking any box to change this there isn t even a box to check it automatically signs you up for 18 95 for 12 months A note at the top of the Payment page advises that this option is available but there is NO PLACE that you as the user select to take this option After paying you get a page advising that your report may not have been received it wasn t so click here to talk to someone to correct it I didn t click - I am guessing that is where they council you into agreeing to the 18 95 charges Instead I used the Chat option and had the 18 95 charge removed from my credit card which I am happy to say they did promptly do So now my worry is the report I see from another user that they received unapproved charges 2 days after their encounter with carhistory onlinePOSTSCRIPT SURE ENOUGH 12 DAYS LATER I RECEIVED A FRAUDULENT CHARGE TO MY CREDIT CARD REQUIRING THAT THE ACCOUNT BE CLOSED AND RE-ISSUED P S I have screen captures showing the scam process the web site leads you through

I received a report with nothing but VIN number and the city it was built in I was charged 18 95 when it was advertised for 1 00 I emailed company and was told I checked the box for a monthly subscription at checkout which I was never offered that option I was told that it would be cancelled with no additional charges my account was charged 18 95 then 2 days later my card was used in several other unapproved charges

car history has a page that pops up when using their services from PUBCAR this page will lock you into a 24 month subscription without authorization I contacted my bank immediately and froze the account as well as contacted the PUBCAR company who stated they issued a refund via US Mail and cancelled the subscription This was on Thursday July 6 I went to the bank to get a new card on July 11 and there were 14 additional attempts to charge my card made by PUBCAR since the alleged cancellation of the subscription Contacting Pubcar again they stated there was a cancellation but no refund noted then proceeded to inform me that the refund would be into my account not via US Mail what was originally 10-14 days to receive has now turned into 15-21 days Very sketchy and hope no one else falls prey to these scam artists Consumer affairs has multiple complaints stating the same thing promises of refunds and never receiving them as well as subscription cancellation promises and accounts still being charged months later

I agree with those who said the positive reviews were fake I went to carhistorynevada online which took me to carhistory online where I did a search for a VIN number I was asked to click on paying for 1 and after watching some crazy graphics of a bar uploading and doing a search it then took me elsewhere to download the report then it said I needed to create an account to download my report then to find the report was pending I then got a text message because they required a phone number The text asked if I was satisfied with my report I hadn t gotten one nor had I gotten an email So I said no After which I got an email saying they were having troubles with my vin and to check out a different site which also didn t work I responded to the email asking for them to refund my 1 After a bit I got a bunch of texts and emails saying sorry for the inconvenience and that they saw I was enrolled in a volume discount package for 23 installments of 23 95 which they will refund within 3-5 business days and then close my account This is definitely either a scam or a slimy way to do business and I discourage anyone from using them

I was searching for a history report for a motorcycle It stated that the cost was 1 My credit card was charged 28 95 and I was enrolled in a membership that I did not okay I never even finished setting up the account and I was already charged I never even got the 1 report

Not only is it NOT 1 the one report I received came from a site called OnlineDataReports and the charge came from USVinData com NOWHERE in my digital files is there an email or reference to CarHistory online Yes I got my charges cancelled but what a racket

They will automatically sign up up for repeating charges every month Mine was 23 95 mo I needed just ONE vehicle check not volumes of them but they kept charging me and without notification NO email NOTHING PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR CC STATEMENTS

I see from reading other 1 star reviews that I m not the only one scammed by this site They offer a 1 car history but then accidentally sign you up for an 18 95 month payment plan Do NOT give these people your credit card information Oh and they also said after applying the charges that they didn t actually have the information they told me they did

These guys claim a nominal fee but when the charge comes in it is considerably more Lack of transparency is deliberately dishonestInterestingly utilizing them triggers a fraud alert alert from a major credit card company In my experience companies like car history online who are not honest about their charges are likely to be scummy in other ways so avoid

The company enrolled me in a monthly service at a cost 28 95 each month without my knowledge I made contact with them and they indicated they would issue a rebate of the charges via paper check I contacted the company on Dec 17 and was advised again that I would receive a paper check I have not received any rebates I contacted their Customer Service today Jan 5 2024 I explained the situation again and they were exceedingly rude and stated that there was nothing they could do
