"Costly replacements of poor umbrellas"
I ve had two replacement umbrellas for my Davek Mini since 2019 The original and its replacement both blew inside out and a metal piece broke off The replacements cost 9 99 shipping of the new one and 4 for return of the old one I can buy a cheap umbrella for 15 that will last as long as this 60 one and in future I will

"Ongoing Davek Duet Issues"
Last year I took a video and sent it to Davek that showed how the umbrella a Davek Duet would not open after hitting the release button They were responsive and quickly replaced it The replacement however buckles with a bit of wind Specifically the spines continually turn inside out with just about any gust of wind This umbrella is not ideal for windy conditions and I am unfortunately 0-2 with this model

I recently purchased the mini as I wanted a sturdy umbrella to take with me in my smaller handbags I ve just received it the shipping seemed to take a while and I feel really let down by the presentation It came wrapped in a bit of flimsy bubble wrap with a blurry invoice that looked like a child had printed it off When I ve spent 55 on an umbrella I d expect it to come in a nice little box or something at least But instead at first glance it looked like something you d get from Shein I haven t used it yet so can t comment on the quality but so far I m pretty disappointed

"Unfortunate returns process"
Umbrella was hard to close returned it I had to pay 12 for return shipping AND a 10 restocking fee Not a great returns process for what is trying to be a higher end brand

"Broke third use"
I received the traveler as a gift It broke in some wind the third time I used it which surprised me as they are supposed to withstand wind I contacted the company about a repair and I have to pay to ship it back to them and pay 9 99 for the shipping back to me I am not very impressed given the price of the umbrellas and business usually pay shipping in these situations

"Extremely overpriced and not any more "
It is a nice looking umbrella but extremely overpriced and not any more durable than your average decent umbrella Have purchased the solo and commuter and have already had to send one back to get fixed I now have one with a couple of the arms bent due to wind and tie of umbrella to the arm broke and the other doesnt fully open to the locked position While it is nice to have it fixed for free but I have to pay for shipping each time and take the time and trouble to ship it back which is a pain and which adds even more to the cost of an overpriced umbrella So I give up and will not ship them back again Will throw them away and stick with your average priced umbrella from Totes or other company Much cheaper even in the long run having to buy multiple average priced umbrellas Do not recommend Davek and will not buy again They package a nice looking umbrella with the same basic durability of your average umbrella and charge a fortune for it trying to make it look very upscale but in the end the lack of durability makes it a fail

The umbrella is heavy and smaller than I expected not the mini It is hard to pull down to lock when closingand the folds are hard to put together neatly A very nice color though

"Not quite the quality I expected"
The Mini retails for about 60 I got the umbrella at 39 It doesn t feel like a quality umbrella I had bought a Temella brand at around 20 and it s quality feels better than The Davek Mini

The umbrella seems flimsy It s hard to open I bought the little portable one so maybe the larger ones are more sturdy But this expensive little umbrella doesn t seem much better than the ones for 19 99

"Great concept but "
An great value proposition on paper but lackluster product and subpar customer service I think the concept of having an high quality umbrella with a lifetime guarantee and loss protection is great it is what brought my interest in the product in the first place I have never used the loss protection so cannot speak on that to be fair I have purchased the Solo but have had multiple issues with frames bending after a short period of use After the first replacement I have notice a frames not extending out fully which after - few uses got progressively worse and had to send it in again for repair When I received the second pair it also had the similar issues which later evolved into an unusable umbrella To be fair the second replacement at this moment is still usable I have reached out to customer service to express my concern but they genuinely seem to not care and said that is the normal range of motion Maybe they are right I will give them the benefit of the doubt but so many issues on what they advertise as a premium umbrella should not be occurring so often I do have the mini as well and that has worked great for years so my advice is the following 1 Do not buy the Solo if you look online other people have had issues as well The mini works great as a backup emergency umbrella would recommend that one if you need a backup umbrella 2 Do not expect much from customer service Fees for shipping and replacement repairs do add up so I will see how the second replacement goes but I will not be purchasing from them or be asking for further repair Update I have realized I reviewed them a few years back as well Going back for a repair given my poor experience that was on me my fault Never again
