Do not waste your money on this program

I was looking for a little help getting into the industry using my existing experience The owner Andrew Hunzicker makes a lot of promises and talks a big game but falls short of delivering I was promised Andrew worked with us closely that the group shared work with its members that Andrew himself referred work to members and that the members contracted with each other None of this was true At the base level as it existed when I first joined you pay for access to a set of educational materials and weekly marketing calls You can also a monthly fee for access to their networking group which is just a poorly moderated Facebook group If you don t pay this monthly fee you get zero assistance from the owner or his team because you only gave him 7k for access to educational materials The educational materials are terrible This is an understatement It exists as a messy website containing a few messy excel files complete with formula errors screenshots of different excel spreadsheets so you can t use them screenshots of images and articles defective URLs to articles and outdated articles in various file formats Additionally none of them follow any kind of accessible format the screenshots and scanned articles have no image descriptions and none of the audio or videos have captions or transcripts If you request accessibility accommodations you are told everyone gets equal access and no accommodations will be made Additionally the materials aren t actually helpful Nothing in them is ground-breaking You could take a basic bookkeeping course and be better off that s what I did and if you re already a CPA or tax professional you already know everything you need to know With the monthly fee you get access to biweekly group calls as well but these are all just more marketing-speak with no new information after the first week If you have the audacity to ask about the program s shortcomings you are shamed in some way usually publicly Andrew is also incapable of putting anything important in writing his usual response to any kind of communication is a short-form video again no captions or transcripts or even a descriptive title which doesn t really answer the question No matter what you say or ask you are told that you aren t paying close enough attention to the materials and that you aren t putting in the work When I joined he d just created a mastermind and franchisee program so all his efforts were going into getting money from masterminds and franchisees and didn t care about us peons who d only done the base program and monthly Facebook fee If you search Andrew Hunzicker online you see there are several programs like Dope CFO such as the CFO College with the similar marketing speak as Dope CFO There are also logo images for major media outlets but no links to articles about him or the companies he creates The logos are just there to make you THINK he has ties to or he s regularly contributed to major media outlets I wish I d found these spinoffs before I joined because they re full of red flags There is a competitor s program that s infinitely better than this one and I wish I d discovered it before I gave Andrew my hard-earned money

Please read the other 1 star review Coming from an Accounting background I thought and after several conversations and requests to see even see screenshots of the work papers that I was getting a full and complete workpapers to service a company The Excel files are not white glove like they stress The formatting and presentation of the Excel are as basic as they come inconsistent formatting and of port quality

I joined the group in 2019

I became an early investor in this program joining in April 2019 In February 2019 one of my non-cannabis clients approached me to assist with their application for a cultivation license and asked me to serve as their CFO I had been working in accounting since 1992 running my own practice My experience includes serving as an accountant on a construction project in Jamaica and working as a controller for a multi-sector business overseeing 13 different companies However I was not familiar with accounting for the cannabis niche I quickly searched online for cannabis training and DOPE CFO was one of the first programs that came up After researching it further I reached out to the owners and spoke with them directly I decided to start the program in April 2019 once tax season was over Having been a self-employed accountant for nearly 30 years and owning multiple businesses I had experience across various industries but cannabis was a completely different landscape The training gave me a whole new perspective on accounting especially with regard to 280E 471 and a deeper understanding of the plant itself After joining I faced some medical setbacks in late 2019 and early 2020 along with the challenges of COVID so I couldn t become active until 2021 I joined the first and I believe only Mastermind group which provided valuable insights and access to software for my accounting business and the verticals I represent It also offered advanced accounting techniques working papers education and support from group leaders and others in the Mastermind and VIP groups I have assembled my own team from this group to assist clients which includes experts in investor relations creating high-end proformas and pitch decks QuickBooks specialists financial clean-up professionals income tax experts and gurus in entity structuringSince joining I have spoken at several Lucky Leaf and Canna One events become involved in various local and online groups attended MJ Biz Con and am currently preparing for MJ Unpacked this fall I ve collaborated with various verticals in the U S and connected with more prospects recently I ve also stepped in to assist a few Advisors with their clients needs I really value how this group leans into each other s strengths and collaborates effectively There were times when I had to take a step back feeling as though I might not succeed in this industry However I received tremendous encouragement from Andrew Kristi Ray and many others in our Mastermind and VIP group Their support helped me overcome imposter syndrome and build my confidence Motivated by their kindness I strive to offer the same encouragement to other members of the group I am grateful every day for being introduced to the DOPE CFO group and for all the new colleagues and friends I ve made

After accidentally working with 2 different cannabis companies I went searching for resources I was shocked to find almost nothing outside of the IRS And I was embarrassed by work I had seen by other CPA s accountants who purported to be specialists If I was going to support this industry I wanted to support it well But then I stumbled upon DOPE CFO My experience has really blown me away This company is passionate about the industry about their customers and their customer s clients as well as the social impacts The depth of knowledge and resources is remarkable From marketing to cost accounting and everything in between this company has the resources to support this emerging industry and give new meaning to walking the walk I have not found any better resources and support than DOPE CFO to help me service cannabis clients From marketing the services to providing day-to-day business and accounting support DOPE CFO has the goods Their VIP network brings likeminded service professionals together through weekly calls All questions and engagement are encouraged The leadership team bring insights and industry updates that are so valuable to someone like me who is new to the industry I am just beginning my journey with DOPE CFO and learning the resources available listening in on weekly calls and engaging with the Facebook group From what I can see there is a direct correlation between individual effort and applying the principles and resources provided by the program I will be back with future reviews as I move forward

The information provided in the program is extensive with everything from the basics to indepth accounting concepts I have always found Andrew to be very responsive to questions and always adding new information as it becomes available I signed up for the weekly meetings and have found a great network of professionals The community really helps answer questions and keeps you updated on a national level Great program
