EBay s customer service is horrible to be kind Been a EBay customer over a year I never had a hold on my funds recently until now I sold a item recently was told a hold was placed to protect me Lol How it protects me is beyond me Talked to one EBay rep and she said she released the hold After seeing hold still on I called back again and was promised hold would still be removed Well still a hold after checking This time I chatted with a rep she explained hold was placed to protect me and would be removed once package arrived I could understand this if I was a new seller but have sold several items on EBay in past year plus EBay customer service needs to be a little more truthful One rep says one thing and doesn t carry through Also I was charged a fee to promote item recently on a item a buyer bid on and won That buyer did a Casper act and never paid I was told by EBay I would get a refund for any fees Still waiting fortunately I did not ship item This time I was told to ship item with the hold EBay better hope item doesn t get lost or stolen in shipment I will take legal action then Item I sold was worth over 1k but I sold it for about a third of its value since I am cleaning out closet of things I don t use Even though this item was relatively new and excellent condition EBay isn t totally bad but it needs to clean up some of it s policies and hire reps who understand customer service

My personal experience with e-bay was not that good They don t pay attention to the customer satisfaction level

Most of the time eBay works absolutely fine The fees are not super cheap but eBay s technical and operational challenges are immense There are scams on eBay but I haven t had serious problems The site is pretty awful and it hasn t improved since my last review four now five years ago My main criticism of eBay as a seller is that there are so many obvious ways to improve either the site or the experience and eBay has undertaken exactly none of them For example too few buyers now leave feedback There are lots of ways to encourage people to give feedback but eBay just hasn t bothered Another example the account landing page is a busy mess It would be easy to draw your attention to important stuff like active auctions feedback you need to leave or payments you need to send eBay does none of those things still Mediocre still very useful but in tech neglect means decline

Transaction shipping item - all fine and ok But why the f k do I need 15 emails within 14 days just because I buy one little toy for My kid

never used because of the network quality

One of the many poor bad features about ebay that has been remarked on by many other reviews is the fact that they want the buyer to have a good experience even if it is at the expense of the seller An example I have personally come across is a buyer who has not paid for three items and did not respond to my messages I wanted to post a negative review to warn others particularly when I found out that they had done the same thing before But ebay prohibits this so the buyer can bid on as many things as they like and then decide if they will pay for any with no penalty eBay quotes the usual mantra about Data Protection even if a negative review simply stated the facts

Yesterday I was looking for an exercise bike for my cousin I went to the cart page to get the total for the bike I did not touch the final payment button to actually order the bike So I thought nothing of it The next morning my bank account was 39 in the hole and the bike was already bought and shipped and I was unaware of it So I had to hurry to my bank to get enough money put in there Luckily I got there in time before the bank charged me the 39 overdrawn fee But I hope my cousin will be satisfied with this bike that got ordered It might not be the one she really wanted It was around the same price though I tried to contact e-bay directly about it but it was like going around in circles trying to get a hold of them I was pretty mad because I could not contact e-bay about it I told the seller what happened to me But I think the seller just hoped I get the bike for sure So I hope I don t have to end up having to ask for a refund for the bike because she may not be satisfied with it So it was a real drag that I could not contact ebay about even anything I even pretended like I was calling about fraud and still could not get through to ebay customer service Be real careful when your on ebay wanting to buy something otherwise ebay can sneak around and make you buy something with you being unaware of it
