Use free YouTube videos instead

If you are doing the Harvard Computer Science courses like CS50 because you want to learn how to code - they are useless You can get more in 15 minute YouTube videos than these coursesEDX itself emails me all the time and has no way to review courses I wonder how many bad reviews the courses would have if these were visible like every other modern website If you go on YouTube you ll see everyone s comments how many likes it has how many views it has

You could do better elsewhere and the customer service is terrible

I have taken many many EdX courses - I know what I will get However I took a University of Queensland micromaster s There were many problems with the tech and GDPR compliance and they wanted me to send my identification to a third-party in India Both EdX and the University of Queensland kept me in the course long enough so I could not get a refund - I finished all the courses but the last one the capstone was not possible to complete No more EdX and the University of Queensland was also a part of this fiasco Poor customer service and lost money

I was already interested

EdX looked like a great option to further my education but now I ll never know Upon looking into it and trying to find classes I got BOMBARDED with upwards of 5-10 emails a day The amount of spam was staggering I would love to look into it more and would be happy to pay for their services but their AGGRESSIVE add marketing campaigns are too overwhelming I can t decipher the junk from the important details EdX Please fix this

Very very very disappointed

Very very very disappointed I paid for my son to take They should give you more than a week to decide whether it s a good fit for you to get refund He has a high IQ and usually learns quickly DO NOT believe the 70 approval These are based on only those who chose to do the review and NOT on all who have enrolled Realistically this boot camp is not for majority that enroll Huge disappointment There should be more help groups available and made aware to students They promote a good job availability after finishing I could go on Big disappointment hearing from my son

Low quality courses with errors

EdX used to be a nonprofit education company started by Harvard and MIT and deserved it s great reputation Things have gone downhill since it was bought by 2U for 800 million and it only cares about profit now

Enrolled in a course and needed to seek

Enrolled in a course and needed to seek an extension deadline to submit an assignment due to the affects of COVID-19 Institution completely denied extension showing no empathy for a world-wide pandemic causing hundreds of thousands of people various forms of strain Will never study with them again They only care about money not people wanting to learn grow Disgusted

Guidelines are vague wrong

Guidelines are vague wrong no credit given for completed modules which then prevents the exam from launching It s so unclear that it doesn t tell you that you missed the exam deadline - rather the way it s written made it seem the exam wasn t open yet to be able to write it No help available Terrible

This is potentially a phising scam

This is potentially a phising scam Hours after I signed up for these course which were of poor quailty an internet casino based in the same region of China attempted to spend money via my account and there was an attempt from the same place to hack into my AppleID

Actual trash

Actual trash They claim their concept is free education with an added option to pay in case you want a diploma but some of the courses straight up only offer you a THIRD of the course before asking you to pay to see the rest Its a disgusting bait and switch one wouldn t expect from an enterprise touting about its ties to actual universities Avoid at all costs Also the customer service is - as many have said - garbage
