No content and no instructor

I completed edX s Online Teaching and Learning Strategies course It was awful and I learned nothing The course content is little to nothing Many pages were bullet points of best-practices with no explanation or extension The course format was the same throughout all 9 modules Introduction - instructor 30 sec video which she read from a folded piece of paper - discussion - summary It was a waste of time and money

I bought a 5 course on my favourite

I bought a 5 course on my favourite topic When the course began I could see a woman in large glasses in her own kitchen reading a course on the screen I couldn t be disappointed more Not in vain the program doesn t offer any refunds or excerpts from the course My advice Always trust courses that can offer a refund and can show some excerpt from the course before you ll pay for it

Avoid

Teacher was impatient with students and unprepared to start the course He didn t have a formal coding education and he quit two months into the course They do not provide a textbook version of the curriculum They refer you to other people s work I m in the process of getting a diagnosis for auditory processing disorder and I was begging them for months for help and they refused Repeatedly I then suffered stress related syncope and ended up in the hospital They removed me from the course but want me to still pay them 8 000

I enrolled in Coding Bootcamp at edX

I enrolled in Coding Bootcamp at edX with the understanding as conveyed by a representative that successful completion could lead to job opportunities with a potential starting income of up to 100k eventually moving towards 180k I dedicated myself fully to the course aiming to acquire all necessary skills Despite my efforts I ve been unable to secure even a single interview in the six months since completion and remain unemployed My experience with the support services post-course was disappointing when I reached out for assistance I was informed that there was no guarantee of employment I also encountered an incident where one of the instructors made racist remarks towards Mediocre White Males which was concerning This experience has left me in debt without the anticipated career advancement For anyone considering this program I recommend thoroughly researching and understanding the potential outcomes and support offered before committing Do not waste your time and money

Scam in buying a certificate from edX

I completed a Professional programming course from edX that was well-known on and off the platform a long time ago and did not receive a certificate of completion Furthermore I purchased the paid certificate and did not receive any certificate and the site s support team does not work instead they have ready-made questions that do not help I can conclude from my experience that this platform is a scam they use the names of globally known companies to receive money

course content very immature

course content very immature many mistakes in the evaluation questions Capstone project subject modified twice in 3 months time you work on a project and realize mid way that the subject had evolved effort to be provided for courses highly under-evaluated I had to spend 4 times more than was communicated at signup time even though I already had some familiarity

Want to learn Give me your money first

edX is a great platform for e-learning but now you have to pay for a certification in order to get access to the courses for more than a week A couple of months ago you could audit a course and decide whether you wanted a certificate or not It is a shame I have five certificates and I was happy to pay for them but sometimes I need more time for deciding if the course is worth a payment
