Trip of a lifetime that I ll never forget

Wilson and the team at Ewangan Safaris are absolutely wonderful As a Maasai-led organization we received insight and hospitality into the culture animals and land that can only be provided by the people who have shepherded that same land for countless generations They went above and beyond during our week long safari and cultural experience through Tanzania It s hard to rank my favorite part but I will never forget the water buffalos and hippo grazing outside our glamping tent in the Serengeti or the leopard and her cub playing in the tree above our jeep or the cheetahs close enough to pet or the black rhino in Ngorongoro or dancing with the Maasai warriors at the Eco Boma or meeting the students of REDO the secondary school supported by this organization or laughing and singing with our guides I literally don t have enough words to describe just how wonderful it was and what all we experienced you ll just have to see for yourself One last note Bad tourism is when your money exchanges hands on foreign land but doesn t remain in the country Responsible tourism is when your dollar not only remains in the local economy but supports indigenous initiatives This organization is Maasai-led actively supports local education and are some of the most wonderful people you ll ever meet on earth We met as strangers and left as friends - thank you to all for the trip of a lifetime

Incredible Experience

The awesome grandeur grew each day of our 4 day safari to Tarangire Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti The wildlife and scenery were beyond belief Tarangire is a great introduction to the wealth and diversity of Tanzanian wildlife but in retrospect was only a teaser of what was to come The Ngorongoro crater is a magical place as close to Eden as anywhere on this earth The immense size and number of animals in the Serengeti is overwhelming Our driver guide was excellent He was extremely knowledgeable experienced and a good communicator He often correctly anticipated where the animals would be found and expertly positioned the truck for the best views and photos The safari vehicles were comfortable well maintained and well-stocked with water I highly recommend Ewang an Safaris for an experience of a lifetime

A professional safari experience

Full disclosure We traveled on the same Tarangiri-Ngorongoro-Serengeti safari as the previous two commenters So my review would also agree whole-heartedly with Marc and Austin Our trip exceeded our expectations The amount of wildlife we were able to experience was beyond what I hoped for Plus our guide was a certified park guide with three years of post-secondary schooling as a naturalist He was especially knowledgeable about birds and predicting where certain big game would appear for best viewing and photography He was also skilled in how to position our vehicle to get the best shots when 7 other safari vehicles are jockeying for position All drivers were personable fun to be around and very knowledgeable about their country their people and the wildlife Vehicles were new and about as comfortable as one could expect on bumpy dusty roads We visited in late October end of the dry season start of rainy season with the advantage of mostly dry roads but with rains in the northern Serengeti that triggered the beginning of migrations This may be a good time for those wanting to avoid the larger safari crowds during peak migration Cost through Ewangan Safaris is very reasonable and all profits stay within the Maasai community

Wow

Wow I too traveled with Mike Mark and Austin I totally agree with all of their comments The opportunity to view the wildlife in the three National Parks was spectacular One guide said the last time he had seen a leopard climb a tree was about 4 years ago And we got to see her cub climb as well My favorite part was as usual the people We were blessed to have teaching about the Masai people as we stayed at their Boma heard about their culture shared their dance and were invited into their homes Thank you Wilson for the opportunity of a lifetime

Not to be forgotten once in a lifetime experience

This Maasai-led safari company is the only one you should consider if you are looking for an authentic experience in Tanzania Their tour guides grew up in the area and know the land and the animals Our guide Frank spotted and taught us so much about the animals but further enriched the experience by sharing personal knowledge and experiences of the culture and lifestyle of the indigenous Maasai people Ewangan Safaris planned an outstanding itinerary including the Tarangire National Park Ngorogoro Conservation Area and Serengeti National Park We saw all of the big 10 animals and our guide Frank was very sensitive to positioning our vehicle for the best photo opportunities As a result we have photos and memories that will preserve our wonderful experiences for a lifetime Ewangan Safaris did an excellent job of scheduling a variety of great accommodations to enhance our experience We stayed in an authentic Eco Boma and experienced Maasai singing and dancing We stayed in a Serengeti Bush Camp where we went to bed hearing animals close by and woke up to see wildebeest and zebras outside our Glamping tent windows We stayed at a luxury lodge complete with swimming pool Ewangan Safaris was very responsive to our needs and desires and truly wanted to make it the best experience possible for us Wilson Lengima with Eqangan Safaris is the best - I can t recommend him enough Book with him and you won t be disappointed An added bonus is that part of your safari fee goes directly to supporting the Redo Secondary School which provides education and a pathway for Maasai youth to get a wonderful education and future jobs to help support their families

Unforgettable Cultural Experience

Ewangan Safaris used their unique Maasai perspective to show us the wonders of Tanzania We were invited as supporters to celebrate the 7th graduation of the REDO Maasai Secondary School also supported by Ewangan Safaris First we learned about Stone Town spice farms and Prison Island staying at the Tembo Hotel in Zanzibar Then we flew to Arusha to start the Tanzania Safari experience viewing animals in Tarangire Park Ngorongoro Crater and the vast Serengeti Plains We danced with the Maasai learning about their unique culture staying at the Eco Boma The safari vehicles were well suited for the many miles of dusty dirt roads and we witnessed Maasai moving herds through pasture lands Vast lands blackened by large migrating animal herds were mesmerizing wildebeests and zebras elephants giraffes hippos rhino cape buffalo wart hogs lions hyenas jackals gazelles and birds all intermingled We spent two tented nights comfortably safe even while hearing animals wandering through the camp at night At the school the students were fun to meet eagerly sharing with us The school grounds were rural and dusty waiting for the expected rains to come and provide much-needed feed for their pastoral society Ewangan Safaris offer an unforgettable cultural experience with expertise and professionalism Thanks to Wilson and his great guides

Trip of a Lifetime Unforgettable

I recommend Ewangan Safaris 100 percent What an amazing trip I am ready to go right back and do it all again I worked at a Zoo for 12 years so I ve seen lots of African animals fairly close But I can tell you that it is not like seeing them in their habitat I was awed and wowed several times a day Our Safari Guide Jackson was so knowledgable and he shared so much about the animals and the habitat Enjoyed our stay at the Tanzania Bush Camp on the Serengeti where I was serenaded by Cape buffalo one night Lots of wildlife right here hyenas antelope zebras The coffee lodge we stayed the night before Ngorongoro Crate was another awesome place to stay We saw elephants from the patio What you need to know is that while you ll be amazed by the animals its the people at Ewangan at the camps and lodges and those you ll meet in villages that make this trip so memorable I loved every minute of it
