Over promise under deliver

I have to agree with the other two reviews on this site Hayfield certainly over promise and under deliver I have had numerous issues from day 1 and ive now been at my home over 2 years and there are still issues which now will not get fixed as Hayfield only help sort issues for the first 2 years and obviously we have had covid in between although you would have thought they might have taken this into consideration I did not want anyone in my property during the pandemic as I have an underlying health condition If you want to see all the problems my property has incurred refer to my google review I will not take away from the design of the property and at first glance the property is lovely spacious and light however the attention to detail was is poor You only have to look at the paintwork brush marks with what looks to be a different texture of paint than the initial paintwork various other marks marks on doors and windows and carpet poorly fitted although I never even mentioned this to Hayfield as there were far more important problems that needed rectifying I have had numerous leaks 3 from the roof and from the radiator in the bathroom which now has a permanent bowl underneath it I think the thing that has annoyed me the most is the attitude I have received from Hayfield Homes If you do not want people complaining then don t put out substandard work and if you do fix it and apologise I had a maintenance man turn up half an hour late to fix an issue and I had left work early to be there I had to ring the office to find out where he was and when he did turn up there was no apology I don t doubt for a second that he had a chip on his shoulder due to me constantly complaining but I really don t know what they expect me to do Its not a faulty top I have purchased from Primark its an expensive home I understand that you have a 2 year warranty for Hayfield to sort problems out but when ive constantly had problems in the home I would like to think they would stretch that slightly to try and improve my opinion on the company and just to be helpful I want to be able to enjoy my home and not worry about what is going to go wrong next Edit I wanted to add this to my google review as a follow up but google wont allow it Since my previous google review things have only gone from bad to worse The washer dryer that was installed by Hayfield has broken down twice within 2 years however I am now at the end of that and Electrolux will not extend the warranty despite the fact it has been the same fault each time Hayfield also do not want to know It might be worth googling companies reviews before deciding on what brands of appliances you want to install you only have to type Electrolux into google to see what terrible products and service they provide I now also have an issue with the boiler that Hayfield installed I did email Hayfield asking for some clarification but they refused to even answer a question as I am now out of the two year warranty that Hayfield provide What they actually meant was they don t want to deal with me due to the amount of problems I have had to complain about I am just waiting for the next thing to go wrong now Its got to the point now that I am not sure I even want to live there anymore due to the worry of other things going wrong which is such a shame as the location is lovely as are the people who live in the same road I note that quite a few Hayfield Homes have been put up for sale recently when people have only lived in them for 2-3 years which says a lot really NB 06 2022 Since the above I discovered that the tool I needed to enable myself to change my light bulbs had not been left in my flat so I had to get in touch with the light manufacturer who were beyond helpful and went out of their way to help me DAR Lighting Also one of the initial snagging issues of major cracks down each side of the wall that sticks out above my extractor fan has reappeared since they sent a decorator out to fix this This was less than a year ago and I have therefore said I do not think the work was done to a satisfactory standard Their response - We have no further comments on this please contact the NHBC for further clarification Apparently NHBC are responsible for the decorator they send out

They need to considerably improve to get near to where they think they already are

Moved into our new Hayfield home in Southmoor at beginning of May First impressions were pretty good In fairness the design layout and appearance of the house is fantastic and I still really like those aspects Unfortunately it s the usual story where the sales and advertising side promise everything and anything to secure a sale You find out fairly quickly though that all is not as you have been told e g what would be included in the house the quality levels and timescales for getting things done The internal paintwork is very very poor the carpet is the worst fitted carpet we have ever had the foam-backed carpet I had in my student days was better fitted kitchen cupboards not lined up kitchen floor tiles uneven and none of the toilet cisterns worked properly The filtered water tap not working from before purchase took four months to replace with another faulty tap Block paving on driveway poorly laid still waiting for this to be rectified same as the patio A water-butt was fitted that took them two goes because the connecting pipe travelled upwards and they managed to bow the downpipe in the process We have not been able to use the en-suite to the master bedroom from day one due to a combination of water coming through ceiling toilet flooding bath not fitting properly shower tray fitted incorrectly - so overflowed wall tiles had to be replaced where incorrect shower screen had been fitted when replacement screen was fitted original drill holes just left in tiles Four months later and the en-suite bathroom is still not finished Covid had little or nothing to do with any of these defects When tradespeople did turn up too many times they had to come back again because they either didn t do the work properly or simply never finished it Some said they would be back to complete work and we never saw them again With others you felt like you had to stand over their shoulder while they did their work and who wants to do that In short we have tried but could not hand on heart recommend Hayfield as we have been let down by a mixture of incorrect information given by the sales side and the time taken to rectify the faults by the building side Most of the work needing completion was known to Hayfield at the outset yet they missed two of the deadlines to have all the works completed Importantly what I would not have expected was for them to miss their second deadline for the completion of works without giving us prior notice or even any hint of an apology Now we take any dates they give us even the October ones with no more than a pinch of salt I have to be candid and say that in amongst all of this there have been a few very good Hayfield people or contractors I am sure these were well intentioned and maybe to give the benefit of the doubt in one or two areas no more they have been let down by circumstances but there is not enough proper decision making or evidence of Hayfield taking ownership and responsibility for matters and ensuring promises are delivered upon In essence they work very hard to give the impression that the cornerstone of their business is one of top-notch quality and service The reality is that they need to go a long way to get anywhere near to where they think they already are

I went to visit the Hayfield Oaks

I went to visit the Hayfield Oaks development to enquiry about a home last week and was met with probably the worst sales person I ve come across told me the house was sold they have developments elsewhere and I can t look in the show home had to stop the door being slammed in my face to ask if they were building any more on this development and got looked up and down before being told they ll be some 2 beds at some point I was looking for a 4 5 bed but she clearly thought I didn t look like I had enough cash Overall a very bizarre experience because I would ve considered one of their other developments if I hadn t been spoken to like a peasant

Terrible post purchase customer service

Terrible post purchase customer service - The entire customer service department is inept incapable of keeping to word or fulfilling any promises We got the keys to our home in December of 2021 - The sale process was easy the sales team were great and initial handover was good Then our heating went out in January 2022 - The emergency team sent a gas boiler engineer to fix our heat pump of which he had no idea how to deal with It took a whole two days for them to get us hot water and heating back on however never changed a component or fixed it Despite having the manufacturer for the heating system come out and produce and entire document on what the problems were Hayfield refused to take the opportunity to act all summer and still havent acted to make any remedial work to prevent it from happening again Today my heating has gone out again - No heat from the floor and no heat from any of the pipes from the heat exchanger in my utility This should never have happened again and is solely down to the failings of Hayfield But it s not just big things My kitchen doors were damaged in installation and painted over something that was pointed out PRIOR to handover - 11 months on still not fixed and being given excuses LED lights do not match in colour which was pointed out PRIOR to handover - 11 months on still not fixed and being given excuses My LED lights were knocked out by a kitchen fitter adjusting our worktop a MONTH ago and we were told that we would have to wait until the works to change the lights in the above with 10 months already waited at that point The eaves of the house are still unpainted something that we told them about 11 months ago Gutters are leaking under heavy rain - We told them in springAll of the glass doors and glass of the showers were absolutely covered in deep scratches from the cleaning team - Something that the business never came to any agreement on My flooring is coming up in parts and some of the joins are too short The kitchen cabinets all need adjusting as they are inconsistent in height and gaps I can go on and on however Hayfield will never send anyone to do any more than paint - Every single issue is left with them and unfortunately unless you are able to project manage your own snagging and chase and chase and chase you will be left in a position like us No further than move in and a house that is getting colder If you do buy a Hayfield house be very prepared to see a completely different experience the moment you are handed the keys - The aftersales has 0 capacity to deal with the growth of the business and ultimately will be what leads to the downfall Get it sorted Hayfield it s totally unacceptable

moved into a bungalow in 2020 this builder is no better than any other builder water logging garden and poor workmanship in general tried to fob us off until the garantee had passed still have water leak comming from under the skirting board where boiler is fitted they just did not want to know it took one and a half years to replace kitchen tile and the same amount to replace our living room floor as it was uneven i could go on but it wont change anything Would never recomend this company

Completely different company after you have moved in

After a year of ownership and trying to rectify mistakes made by the developer I can safely say that Hayfield Homes are one of the most disingenuous companies we have had the misfortune of dealing with When purchasing the property and even for the first couple of weeks after moving in they seem to live up to the high expectations they set for themselves in their advertising literature However once the honeymoon period is over they will dismiss most complaints and concerns of any shoddy workmanship that is discovered in the following months of living in the property The customer care team s go-to response is that works have been completed as per specification however shoddy the actual result may be which doesn t really fit in with some of the statements on the website such as We are united by our passion and commitment in creating the truly exceptional homes of character and endurance We have had multiple issues in our home that are a result of shoddy workmanship When these issues are raised Hayfield try to squirrel their way out of any responsibility I wouldn t recommend Hayfield to anyone as they can t live up to their own high expectations

Don t buy from this cowboys Their build quality is poor and we can t even get the heating to work The finish is poor cheap and horrible The paint job is rubbish with peeling paint on walls from day 1 All round poor builder

work was shoddy when we moved in bathroom wrong way round Toilets not working property Birds in roof Customer service don t want to know takes ages to sort anything Builders turn up randomly Guttering falling off Also wrong floor put down which I paid for and covered it up hoping I would not notice Windows scratched had to be replaced This was on most of the site I could go on Once they have your money they do not want to know

DO NOT Part Exchange with Hayfield

Please do not enter into a part exchange deal with Hayfield Their properties are lovely but the use of a third party company called Move With Us will not provide the peace of mind you would expect from a PX deal Happy to provide evidence to anyone interested Just don t want anyone to have the same experience as us - a phone call at 10am on the morning of completion stating there was an issue Can you imagine being boxed up and ready to move and then get that call If you ever have the misfortune to deal with Suzanna be prepared to speak with someone ill prepared and willing to misinform to get you out of the office She told me I had signed to say I would pay and provide a certificate as it was on the part exchange form This was a complete lie and not so much as an apology They currently still have our holding deposit and despite being able to accept money with8n minutes electronically reckon it takes them 10 working days to give you your money back Great if you have no issues but lacking any customer service when one arises
