I have spent more hours doing my taxes with Hnry than when I had a personal accountant Also they dont have a live customer service number The only way to speak to someone is to wait for a response in the chat box and then they reveal that you can schedule a call

Be mindful of undisclosed fees around tax time if you are a small business or an independent contractor e g Uber Eats Very difficult to obtain any form of information about your own finances other than the self-generated cut and paste payslips Very high chance a lending or financial institution will not accept this as proof of income speaking from recent experience applying for a business credit card Honestly you re better off using an Accountant like a real life person you can pick up the phone and call Automated systemised AI powered customer help will never compare The 1 fees may not be worth it come a time you need the aid of a person

Henry paid an invoice to one of my bank accounts that I had not set up for the Henry app This caused a lot of issues Even though it had been paid they kept sending reminders to my client that it had not The communication on this was initially through messaging with delayed responses Even though I had informed them of this issue the overdue reminders from Henry to my client continued After more messaging and delayed responses to the problem it was deemed to be some fault of mine The reminders continued I decided that messaging was not achieving anything so requested to speak to someone in person which at this stage I did not know was even possible Finally they realized what the problem was and how to fix it There was an apology but at this stage I had lost faith in their professional abilities I have now re-engaged the services of my previous accountant I find the personal relationship I have with him to be worth the minor extra costs

Just use your regular human accountant Hnry held my pay for a day until I contacted them saying they weren t sure about tax bracket but didn t even try to contact me to clarify in the end all details were correct It might be just a day to you but it provokes lots of anxiety when you are no longer on regular pay

I have contacted Hnry to find out what s happening with my GST being paid They have messaged me the day prior to my GST being due to request more information I have tried to provide them with this info over the last 2 months and been told we will contact you closer to the time I have then been advised that they may not get my GST submitted in time and I could incur penalty fees with IRD I have never previously filed anything late with IRD and am alarmed that they have only gotten back to me the day prior to my GST due date and only after I have sent them a message the evening prior to find out what is happening with my GST return

EXCELLENT customer service especially Nina who is super helpful However Hnry need to hire more people so that the response time is faster than the few hours they say it will take

While it is nice to have your tax and ACC fees automatically paid for a little fee I do not think you get much service especially when you need it the most They advertise that you don t need to chase the payments yourself and that Hnry will follow up on any late payments but they do not I have late payers all the time One client did not pay for my same-day service same-day pay for six weeks and I had to chase the money up myself They are only IRD after all and are looking after their bigger clients For small businesses like myself you are better off just paying the tax as you earn At the moment I have a client who is five days late and there was no reminder even sent even though I had especially requested they get one The messages say they will reply within four hours and they did not For the one percent fee you are better off ditching late payers and finding more businesses that will pay Hnry will not chase up for anyone The first three months trial was okay but then it all falls apart

Hnry is great in that they take care of your expenses for you as well as following up on unpaid invoices They are easy to contact and responsive

I was reluctant to get involved in contract work because of the hassle of managing own tax s etc however this is very easy I just have to be organised with expenses but even when I am not sure about something Hnry are very quick to respond to my messages when I am unsure and taking the stress away from myself

Hnry has taken away any tax gst related worries it s simple to use and the ability to ask any questions at any time is great
