AI Review Summary Based on 13 reviews

Customer experiences with Motorhomeescapes are sharply divided, with a significant number reporting extremely negative interactions while others describe flawless service. The company's service quality is inconsistent, ranging from reports of rude, unhelpful staff refusing ad-hoc viewings to praise for friendly, knowledgeable, and thorough customer service from specific employees like Michelle. Delivery and handover of the motorhome is sometimes praised as smooth and well-explained, but other customers report receiving vehicles with significant faults, such as leaking waste pipes, from the very first day. The returns policy and post-hire processes are a major source of contention, with customers alleging excessive, unsubstantiated damage charges and immense pressure over late returns, even when discrepancies in pickup times are noted. Product quality is similarly variable, with many reviews highlighting modern, immaculate, well-equipped, and comfortable motorhomes, while others condemn them as poor quality and faulty. Overall satisfaction hinges entirely on whether a customer encountered a problem; those without issues report fantastic, exceptional experiences and brilliant company performance, whereas those with problems describe nightmares, terrible service, and advise others to avoid the company at all costs. The non-refundable deposit policy and the apparent inapplicability of standard consumer cooling-off periods are explicitly criticized as unfair and a hard lesson learned. Accountability is a key complaint, with customers feeling the company takes excessive sums without providing proof of costs or taking responsibility for pre-existing faults. For successful hires, the motorhomes are commended for being easy to drive, having comfortable beds and blackout curtains, and catering well to specific needs like pet-friendly travel. Ultimately, the company's reputation is polarised, defined by either complete satisfaction or profound dissatisfaction across all aspects of the rental experience.

BEWARE Some consumer rights are not

BEWARE Some consumer rights are not applicable to motor home hire Non refundable deposit - stated on their TandCs including consumer rights of 14 day cooling down period - this appears to be absolute even if it feels unfair I ve learnt this the hard way Yes I confirmed I am happy to accept the non refundable deposit situation This was based on the information on their website My husband and I had booked this van based on the NC 500 We had helpful advise with choosing the right Van for our needs Which left us really excited about our holiday for August At no point on the phone or through our emails was I STRONGLY advised against taking the route Three days after booking we received an email from Motorhome escapes expressing that they STRONGLY advise that this route is not taken due to it s unsuitablabily for a camper vans and during this busy period The route is what we booked it for understanding the situation and not wanting to explore areas we ve done before we asked to cancel and as they STRONGLY ADVISED we thought they may consider a giving us a refund especially as it was only 6 days after booking and 3 days since they sent their email Also to note It doesn t state that it is STRONGLY ADVISED to not take this route on their website we wouldn t have booked it had we have understood this before I asked as a good will gesture as it s not stated on the website and we hadn t been informed beforehand could we have a refund Again the answer is no They STRONGLY ADVISED and have not said you cannot do the NC500 I STRONGLY ADVISE this particular company to flag that the route is STRONGLY ADVISED against before allowing the customer to part with money this way the customer doesn t feel let down or have reason not to not trust you Transparency is key it does not feel that you have been fully transparent with me which is why I requested the refund Informing me after I have paid is not transparency If this was a situation where it was unavoidable I would have understood such as short notice or road closures - but there were a number of occasions I could have been told before parting with money Instead I received emails such as book before you miss out adding additional pressure to book quickly
