When I first got Plex years ago it was awesome Since then they just keep adding and trying to force new features on to the user I only want Plex to view my own library If they want to add a bunch of useless gimmicks for some side cash then make sure it doesn t interfere with the original features that made it great Every single time there is an update where more useless trash is added something stops working properly It truly is frustrating If you have the Google TV Chromecast good luck It generally only works half the time on there and Plex s response for months is that they know about it That s it just confirmation that they know it s complete garbage on Google TV

The movie was playing fine and when it went to commercial break and came back on it started back at 15 minutes prior Fast forward does nothing but change movies Watching on Samsung smart TV Need to fix issues

I got PlexPass for the Downloads feature and it really doesn t work It takes about 10minutes to transcode a song and download it when it should take 10 seconds or less Since there s only community support you have to google the problem to discover you need to reconfigure DNS settings on your phone why Even then it can still error This feature is the only reason for me to purchase a PlexPassI spent hours diagnosing and troubleshooting a problem to a paid feature so asked for a refund which they most graciously provided to me exceptionally The android app is very flaky and took a lot of time to get working In the end I m happy with my Plex server but not PlexPass - when I m paying cash it needs to work

I purchased my first Mac-Mini in 2010 because that was the only thing you could run Plex on at the time Your Media Your way was the motto Boy have things changed The fact the server is no longer a priority is hardly news People worry they re going to drop it all together but that s nonsense The server is what allows them to monetize our shares with their BS services It s the customer delivery tool Emby as far as server-client media software is far superior in most ways The way it automatically responds to bandwidth requirements and actually gives you admin controls so not everyone you share with is transcoding at 720p 2Mb crushing your cpu Plex is still a much slicker interface But this whole media hub thing being forced tricked into our users watching is unfortunate Like all good things it s money that causes it to circle the bowl Is there any doubt this will be owned by fartbook or google at some point

Software is good - I like it though limited with features it is reliable But the forums primary method for support are moderated by clowns PLEX put their technical support in the hands of these people and that s really disappointing when you pay for a PLEX pass There s no way to raise complaints or reach out to PLEX

Would be good if I wasn t deafened when a commercial comes on I don t mind commercials but I do mind losing my hearing No thanks Plex I would rather pay to stream a service who isn t trying to shove a commercial through my eardrum

Barely better than streaming raw files The UI is great when it works However sometimes a patch will suddenly make your files no longer streamable The app will always try to get you to watch the streaming content from Plex with commercials rather than your own files The support is nonexistent and extremely rude If you pay for the Plex Pass for 90 you get a couple monitoring tools on your phone and can manage sharing for users but you will still get the ads sporadically working functionality and the rude lack of service

Shows are good HUGELY jacking up volume for commercials is annoying and I m pretty sure is illegal I forgot to add often 3 of 5 times approximately after the ads show refuses to restart get black screen then you have to restart the show and guess where you were at I ve pretty much quit watching anything on plex

Plex makes the publicity that it s free but is not after installation on my Synology NAS and downloading the Android app I had to pay 6 EUR to watch more than 1 minute of my NAS movies Scam Removing all the US channels commercial rubbish lead me to the fact that DS Video from Synology is still better than Plex

Good selection of movies but the adverts make it impossible to watch Totally ruined it Didn t get the whole way through a whole film as had to turn it off because the adverts became an overwhelming annoyance
