Poor Customer Service
I placed an order with this website once and will never ever do it again After receiving the parcel I found out that they did not tape the bottom of the box well enough so some items were missing I then contacted the website and they refused to do anything about the missing items saying that they were absolutely certain that nothing was missing Yeah right how did they know that Also one of the items received was old stock so I posted it back to the company and wrote a letter to explain what was wrong with it What did I get A telephone call trying to convince me that there was nothing wrong with the product There was no point arguing because they did not want to listen to me anyway Funny enough they did not even send me back that item they must have known it was not fit for human consumption Please avoid this company

Terrible customer service
I only give them one star as that s the minimum I placed an order more than half of it was out of date Sent it back recorded delivery and despite it being signed for they claim it never arrived A real smug sarcastic guy answered the phone when I called and he claimed none of the stuff was out of date So I m out of pocket

Worst company to deal with and very rude business owner Mark
I bought the product from their website and what they sent me is totally different product and when i spoke to the owner of the business Mark he was very rude man instead of him saying sorry he was saying i am wrong He said you can send the items back which will cost me almost 20 00 and he is not willing to pay for the return cost I suggest everyone not to place an order with this company because they are all crooks who knows how to take your money

Worst online shopping experience
I ordered my goods online from Raanthai and after about 10 days waiting and still no show I contacted the Raanthai customer services Only to be told that the delivery man had made 2 attempts to deliver I had absolutely received no notice about any delivery and my building has 24 hours concierge so I really doubt if the delivery man - if delivery there was - had tried very hard Mind you I got reimburse for my goods 26 out of 76 after deduction of this and that Never use this shop again

RAAN THAI S TERRIBLE SERVICE ENDED IN TRANSACTION DISPUTE AND EXTRA BANK CHARGES
This is a long pending review of Raan Thai s failure to deliver reasonable quality goods and provide adequate customer service which has finally been resolved through Barclays Bank and the visa company In May 2020 during level 4 lockdown in London I bought online some dry fresh and frozen groceries from Raan Thai an Asian food supplier found through an internet search There are excellent Asian shops nearby and under normal circumstances I don t do a lot of online shopping Hence my immediate advice to fellow shoppers - check Trust Pilot Google and other reviews before using an online retailer new to you The groceries arrived in an unhygienic condition a ball of ice used for cooling almost completely melted and drenched the newspaper goods were wrapped with The contents of the box were a soggy mess Seven items of frozen food ordered to stock up and use over several weeks were thawed A bunch of fresh herb which we unwrapped later in the evening was partially limp and withered A tin of fish was dented I rang the shop straight away that defrosted food could not be re-frozen subject to food safety and proposed either a refund or discount Raan Thai manager protested that frozen food was not guaranteed to be delivered frozen under their own Terms and Conditions I referred to Consumer Rights Act 2015 that first of all goods should be of reasonable quality and delivered as described and second vendor s own T C should not undermine those of Consumer Rights Act and customer s statutory rights The vendor would not accept this reasoning and I finally warned that if we fail to resolve this matter it would be handed over to Barclays Bank for transaction dispute The vendor then went into a detailed explanation how he would reject the claim being familiar with the procedure The only item the vendor agreed to discount was a dented tin after a photo was emailed The alternative was to post it back without postage refund offered I accepted 30 pence to avoid the risk associated with going to the post office during Stay Home time Needless to say it was not a fair and reasonable way to treat customers any time not to mention Government s safety guidelines at the time of full lockdown The vendor was clearly taking advantage and after waiting for 3 weeks in case they would change their mind I rang Barclays in early June to dispute part of the order Barclays made their own decision to claim the full value of the order taking the view that the service was poor overall Shortly after they informed that the vendor had rejected the claim and the matter would be passed over to the visa company to make the final decision In turn the visa company found the merchant liable for the full amount plus chargeback fees A few reviewers shared their negative experience with Raan Thai and I d like to share The Consumer Rights Act 2015 information with fellow shoppers Goods must be as described fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality During the expected lifespan of your product you re entitled to the following up to 30 days if your goods are faulty you can get an immediate refund Are terms allowed to be unfair The individual terms in your contract should not create an advantage for the seller and a detriment to the consumer If they do they can be considered unfair under Part 2 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015 In addition main food safety and consumer protection offences created by the Food Safety Act 1990 state Section 14 - selling to the purchaser s prejudice any food which is not of the nature or substance or quality demanded by the purchaser

County Court judgement Raan Thai broke Consumer Rights Act 2015
Following the transaction dispute a small claim for the penalties imposed by the bank and visa company was raised by Raan Thai manager Mr Mark Leach through the County Court Consistent with the long record of being offensive to customers Mr Leach s statement contained some misogynist and racial assumptions and is now handed over to Financial Ombudsmen service On 23 February the County Court judged that Raan Thai had broken Consumer Rights Act 2015 and awarded only a partial compensation due to the fact that Barclays Bank and visa company had imposed higher penalties than the actual value of spoilt food and small claim procedure had incurred court fees This is a good example how an unconscientious vendor can be easily taken to account either via Financial Ombudsman which is free or via your bank in our case Barclays Bank reimbursed the costs towards the small claim and made another generous credit for the inconvenience Raan Thai manager had been violating consumer rights for years As other reviews show people were ripped off and often insulted and walked away It does t have to be this way - your bank and Financial Ombudsman offer a surprising level of support when you need it

BEWARE DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY They knowingly shipped rotten produce and then refuse to refund It seems this is something they do regularly They make you think they are ok and then they hit you with the rotten stuff and blame you and make all kinds of excuses not to refund FOR SHAME They will be reported to trading standards
