I used rain-x bug remover washer fluid in my 2021 Honda Passport It clogged my entire washer system and I have a mechanic visit scheduled that is estimated to cost 200 00 to 250 00 to clear my system The bug removal fluid has tiny pieces that look like silicone I contacted rain-x They gave me contact information for the people that actually make the product I contacted them The first lady who responded to my email just ask where I bought the product I sent another email Another associate sent me an email suggesting that I google how to clear the car washer system The mechanic I am scheduled with stated that step one will involve removing the front bumper

Ready mixed screen wash damaged paintwork

I recently bought 5L of rainx ready mixed screen wash and used it in a classic Saab and it has damaged the paintwork I have emailed the company I have used it before and did not notice any damage to the paintwork But then the paintwork on my classic Saab is immaculate and everywhere that the rainx has gone on to the paintwork it has left marks that I can not polish out I am waiting for the company to come back to me and I will further review with the outcome I am hoping that we can work together and come up with a solution and find out what has gone wrong I would not recommend any rainx screen wash product I can not comment on the stuff you only rub in to the glass Obviously that will not go on to your paintwork But at the moment I will never use rainx again until the company has come back to me and we have solved the problem

WARNING I have used the original Rain X without any apparent issues yet However I put Rain X Screenwash in my car yesterday and immediately my screenwash stopped working From research this is a known problem of Rain X damaging cars and costing hundreds of pounds to fix

How to break your screen-washer pump in one easy step Having recently purchased Rain-X screen wash I feel compelled to warn fellow drivers about my experience with this product which in my opinion is not fit for purpose Simply put it caused a total failure of my washer reservoir pump I drive an Audi TT and have used numerous screen wash brands over the years none have caused any issues Enter Rain-X Within moments of filling the reservoir the pump stopped working Completely No sputter no warning just silence truly Rain-X dead What followed was a pointless exercise of Rain-X induced rage a common event amongst Rain-X victims It begins with removing the wheel to access the reservoir draining the system flushing the tank pipes and ends with a scene out of Falling-Down Unfortunately despite my efforts it appears I was unable to repair the damage I shudder to think of the cocktail of chemicals used in this product suffice to say next time I m called upon to unblock the latest super-fat-plug blocking London s sewer system I ll be sure to take a thimble-full of Rain-X with me Until then a costly visit to the Audi service centre awaits Astonishingly this isn t a one-off It turns out Rain-X is known for its damaging effects harming certain car brands more than others A quick scan of various owners forums reveals an alarming number of similar stories So the obvious question is if this is such a common problem why on earth isn t there a clear warning on the bottle Something like Not suitable for use in X Y and Z vehicles May cause complete washer system failure As someone with a professional background in brand management I d be more than happy to write the warning label myself Frankly it should lead the company s 2025 ad campaign Short punchy and brutally honest Rain-X DON T BUY IT You re welcome
