Greedy unhelpful and arrogant
Having insured my building with Saga for many years they have now classed me as multi-occupancy which for one of two self-contrained and owned maisonettes is a non-sense They blame the underwriter with no explanation One has to telephone and I was kept waiting for 18 minutes 12 minutes for her to speak with a manager The phone lines should have been dedicated for this purpose and not entrusted if to an operatoir who knows very little of the problem Saga used to be a wonderful company but since it went public it is now only inteersted in revenue and not service I used also to go on holiday with them - no longer

Incompetent dsihonest and complacent
I had Saga building insurance for 50 yrs plus for 18 months and when I had an emergency it took 6 days for them to respond to a flood in the house Aggressive complacent service My insurance cover was cut off while I was traveling and the house was not covered for 3 weeks I have read the other reviews and agree They lie lie and lie The underwriters are AXA who were in this case incompetent Their PR is dishonest I would not touch them with a barge pole The Regulator should not allow them to provide cover for the public

Dreadful customer experience
I tried to submit a building insurance claim but it was over 14 days before someone - from another company that I had never heard of - contacted me about it In the meantime I had to carry out the remedial work myself as I couldn t wait for Saga to be bothered to get back to me Their website is perpetually down I can access any of my documents 35 minutes on hold to speak to someone and I gave up in the end I found a better policy online with Sainsbury which was cheaper and their website actually works

Awful customer service
Awful customer service Very hard to find a phone number just directing you to website which was temporarily unavailable Phoned and long wait time we ll phone you back Eventually they phoned back but it was house ins dept not car insurance that I needed Said they d transfer me phone silent for 10 mins then I hiung up and redialled 22 minute wait for the phone to be answered lady that I eventually spoke to was very helpful but the premium had gone through the roof Absolutely the worst experience trying to speak to someone for a company aiming at the older end of the market you would think they would be able to give better service than they do

Saga no longer to trusted for a good deal
Hse Hm Insurance renewal went from 151 to 331 Spoke to Jack he could only reduce premium by 30 Cheapest was Tesco which included all legal accidental damage everything you could possible have Good old reliable Tesco 201 Payed for the year Tesco XXXXX Saga 00000

Horrible intimidating home insurance
Horrible intimidating home insurance issue Premium increased by 50 couldn t get hold of them on phone to discuss Sent e mail no reply Cancelled direct debit Saga think it s then okay for them to start a new policy with no mandate and charge for it Having the worst time getting the invoice cancelled as I insured elsewhere Complaints department didn t reply in time scale and they claim they called and i hung up utter disgraceful treatment for an anxious pensioner over 89 which I will never pay emails one reply to just go to the bottom of the queue pathetic

Auto-renewal rip off
My mother had contents insurance with Saga her renewal notice arrived with a near 50 increase in premium and a 30 renewal fee for an auto-renewing policy When I checked the rates on Go Compare one of the best alternatives was Saga offering exactly the same policy for 65 less than the renewal quote When I called they offered to reduce the renewal premium by 40 Money grabbing jokers Needless to say I moved my mums policy

Disgraceful company
I thought Saga was supposed to help older people My 87 year old mum rang me in work to say there was rain coming through the bathroom ceiling from the roof on 12 March It s the 29 July and I ve still not heard anything from them in relation to a claim I made Absolutely disgraceful company I also rang the home emergency which you pay extra for at around 11am on the day and 2 guys finally turned up at 515pm on their way home with a sealant gun I am absolutely appalled at this company particularly so that I have never made a claim against home insurance and I m 61 Shame on you Saga I wonder will I ever hear from them I doubt it
