Predatory website
Many of the advertised jobs appear to not exist based on contacting advertisers that I knew personally it is also impossible to apply for many of the advertised positions without registering with Seek

Beware of the scam jobs that Seek refuses to remove
I saw a work from home job advertised on Seek and after clicking on the ad it became apparent it was a scam poor grammar dubious claims mixed information So I did some research on the company and found out it was an Indian-based scam company that asks potential employees for their bank details and personal information and then sells it on the black market Many people were subsequently hacked and had money stolen after supplying their bank details and passwords at the request of this company I reported it to Seek thinking they would immediately remove it and take all steps to protect their job seekers from scams fraud and cybercriminals but to my surprise they said they won t be removing the scam company I checked back a few weeks later and the scam company is still advertising on Seek still luring victims in I would never use Seek again as now I can t be sure if I m supplying my personal details to a scammer or a real company Now I would only use LinkedIn jobs as I have never seen a scam company on LinkedIn so far

Shows employers a generic resume - no ability to tailor your resume to the employer - Hinders job searches
There are lots of jobs listed but you have to create a profile with a generic resume that employers can view You can hide your profile but as soon as you apply for a job the employer can see your profile and the generic resume creating inconsistencies I tailor my resume to each job I apply for so one generic resume for all jobs just hinders the application process I sought assistance from their support team and was told it is mandatory to set up a profile with a generic resume If I wanted to have tailored resumes and cover letters then I would need to set up multiple seek profiles using multiple email addresses This is just making job searches complex difficult time consuming and don t meet the end users needs Clearly Seek are wanting job seekers to rely exclusively on their platform but with such backward processes I can t understand how they will remain the most used job seeking platform as they have been for many years Also I d like to mention their search engine is pretty poor for such a large organisation For example searching for jobs in the western suburbs of Melbourne and I m getting jobs from Richmond and Prahran Box Hill etc Also searching for jobs with certain salary expectations and receiving 50 of jobs with no salary advertised

As a Company searching for staff i
As a Company searching for staff i would never use them again try sending them an email and you get no response the platform is about as good as holding a roadside sign when looking for staff we have advertised twice with extremely limited success so try to contact the company to get some assistance like was our advert no good or why were we getting no suitable candidates we also at the same time used a free platform Gumtree with the same advert and had great success so all i can say from an employers point of view DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR MONEY IT IS NOT WORTH IT Greg TruscottAussieclean Services Pty Ltd

Seek still insisting on time consuming annoying backward profiles pushing job seekers to apply direct to agencies employers - making seek business reporting statistics false
Glad to see you can now have multiple resumes and cover letters However you are still forced into mandatory profiles Seek trying too hard to be like LinkedIn and it just doesn t work They were the number 1 job search platform and now they re not simply because they re making life too hard for job seekers You can t tailor your information to each job If you re applying to an employer for a retail manager job you don t need to list your experience as a airhost So you have to keep changing your whole profile every single time And it s mandatory to have a profile Or you can choose no work history obviously not a good idea to put on an application to a potential employer Who has time for this Job seeking is hard enough Used to be a good platform but well if it ain t broke don t fix it From what I know from my network groups job seekers are getting the job information and applying directly to the employer or agency who is advertising so seek are doing themselves an injustice by trying to have their finger in every pie Seek go back to simple and work on what you do best Stop trying to be like others stop forcing time consuming annoying and backward mandatory profiles on your users who are working around them anyways and focus on what you do well surely you can see your statistics and business reporting would be totally out of whack

Company reviews seem fake
Company reviews seem fake Submitted a few over the years and they have not published the highly critical ones I personally believe this is an unethical practice that can lead applicants to accept a job with a highly rated company when the experience is the company is toxic Wouldn t trust them and what about the 5 star reviews with current employees
