Issues with the booking website

I was really pleased that I found a reasonably priced flight I went to the BA site to book the flight and after waiting several minutes a message came up to say the booking hadn t gone through So I went through to book again and this time the message said I had successfully booked the flight but it cost me an extra 57 for the flight When I checked my credit card statement I d been charged for the same flight twice at two different prices So I had to phone up the airline to cancel the second flight to get my money back Hence the reason for only three stars

The Latest Search Tool is Much Worse Than The Old One

I love Skyscanner for all my flights but the new search format is so complicated Why can t we just input our flight search and dates like we used to do Instead we get the month we want to go and you actually have to input the dates twice before you get the search you want Worst development of a product I have ever seen It used to be so simple

Click bait hotel prices

For flights it s great The hotel feature told me that there was a top hotel in Dubai 17 night Clicking through I was told the hotel had gone Don t advertise rooms that you know are gone The listing remained even after the engine itself has discovered the rate was not available CLICKBAIT

Bummer

I had one skyscanner experience that was excellent And then the next time it referred me to cheapoair for the cheapest price and that website is a scam So the prices on cheapoair therefore skyscanner were inaccurate by a lot For example a Spirit flight advertised at 91 is actually 204

Great website and app

Great website and app I use it exclusively for searching for flights now Always check direct with the airline before booking as it does sometimes come back a few cheaper or more expensive than shown on Skyscanner but it does a great job of showing you roughly what you ll pay Little tip for the dev team - would be great if you could filter by same day return flights day trips are becoming more and more popular and this would really help people find them easier

beware

I don t know whose fault it is but I

I don t know whose fault it is but I have never paid the amount advertised on Skyscanner When you call about a flight it seems to have mysteriously gone up by hundreds of pounds and makes me wonder about the validity of the site This happened to me during the whole month of September

Yes, Skyscanner is completely free for travelers to use. The company earns revenue through commissions from its travel partners when users are referred and complete a booking on the partner's site. There are no hidden fees or charges for using the Skyscanner search and comparison tools.

Skyscanner allows you to search and compare prices for three main travel services: flights, hotels, and car rentals. Its flight search is particularly robust, supporting one-way, round-trip, multi-city, and even round-the-world itineraries. For hotels and car rentals, it compares deals across numerous booking sites and suppliers.

Skyscanner offers several tools to help find the best travel deals. Key features include the 'Everywhere' search to find the cheapest destinations from your departure point, flexible date calendars to view prices across a month, and interactive Price Alerts that notify you via email when prices change. The 'Explore Map' feature visually displays flight prices to global destinations, ideal for inspiration based on budget.

Skyscanner emphasizes price transparency by clearly displaying the total cost of options, including taxes and fees, within its search results. It often highlights when a price is particularly low or likely to increase. About Skyscanner

Skyscanner: Your Global Travel Search Engine

Skyscanner.net is a leading global travel search engine and marketplace, empowering millions of travelers worldwide to discover and book their ideal journeys. The platform operates as a metasearch engine, which means it does not sell tickets directly but aggregates and compares a vast array of flight, hotel, and car rental options from hundreds of travel providers, including airlines, online travel agencies (OTAs), and hotel chains. This model provides users with a comprehensive, unbiased overview of available choices and prices, making it an essential first stop in the travel planning process.

Core Features and Services

The website's primary function is its powerful flight search. Users can search for flights by specific dates or utilize the popular "Everywhere" destination feature and flexible date calendars to find the cheapest possible fares. For hotels, Skyscanner offers price comparisons across numerous booking sites, along with filters for amenities, guest ratings, and location. The car rental service similarly compares deals from major international and local suppliers.

Key tools that enhance the user experience include:

  • Price Alerts:Users can set up alerts for specific routes, receiving email notifications when prices drop or rise.
  • Explore Map:This interactive feature allows travelers to view flight prices to destinations around the world on a map, inspiring spontaneous trips based on budget.
  • Multi-City and Round-the-World Trip Planning:Sophisticated search options cater to complex itineraries.
  • App Integration:Skyscanner's highly-rated mobile apps extend its functionality, allowing for on-the-go search and booking.

User Experience and Transparency

Skyscanner is designed with clarity and ease of use in mind. Search results are presented in a clean, sortable list, clearly indicating the travel provider (airline or OTA) for each option. A significant emphasis is placed on transparency; the site highlights when a price is particularly low or is likely to increase, and it clearly shows the total cost, including taxes and fees, before redirecting the user to the partner site to complete the booking. This redirect model is central to Skyscanner's business, as it earns a commission from partners for referrals.

Additional Resources and Trust

Beyond its core search tools, Skyscanner.net provides valuable editorial content through its "Discover" or "Travel Stories" section. This includes destination guides, travel tips, trend reports, and inspirational articles written to help travelers plan better trips. The company's global presence, available in over 30 languages and currencies, and its reputation for not biasing results in favor of particular partners, have established it as a trusted and neutral resource in the competitive online travel industry.

Conclusion

In summary, Skyscanner.net serves as a powerful, user-centric gateway to the global travel market. By comprehensively scanning thousands of options and presenting them in an accessible, transparent format, it saves travelers significant time and money. Its suite of planning tools and inspirational content further cements its role as a holistic travel platform, suitable for everyone from budget-conscious backpackers to business travelers planning complex itineraries.
