They are untruthful to the customer They do not communicate when they say they will They sit on refunds for weeks and that s only because of regular telephone calls from me in the meantime they hide behind it was paid by the airline but isn t showing on our system 10 days later still not showing on their system There is more obfuscation and half truths but space here is short

My experience with StudentUniverse was nothing short of a nightmare After booking a flight I received an email four days later casually stating that a technical glitch led to the cancellation of my reservation Upon calling their provided number the first agent blamed a payment issue and audaciously suggested a 25 fee for processing it over the phone Despite assuring her that my credit card was in order she pivoted to the excuse of their dynamic price fares Expressing my frustration about false advertising she conveniently put me on hold To my dismay checking their website again revealed the same flight at the same price Following her advice to rebook online while still on the phone I received a confirmation When I asked her to verify she kept me on hold for a whopping 20 minutes only to claim it was not confirmed Recommending I book directly with the airline lo and behold the price had miraculously skyrocketed by 200 This entire debacle reeked of a deliberate strategy to exploit customers by charging more for the same flight It undeniably stands as the worst encounter I ve had with any third-party booking service Rest assured this marks my first and last interaction with their services

Tickets take way too long to be issued compared to other sites which are immediate Airline reference numbers do not work This is a major concern and is a deal breaker I will use another site in the future and will not recommend Student Universe to anyone

The site said that the cardholder s name does not have to match the passenger s name as text just right under when I entered my card info However the system canceled my booking because of that Now I m waiting for the refund Just don t put the false information on your own website please EDITED fraudulent transaction Any criteria for this It s funny because I tried to buy a ticket for my own mother Also there is no guarantee that a new card would work It would cost me almost 900 each time to try it I can t afford to get my money holded if the transaction fails that many times before getting a refund which would also take many days

Communication with flight changes
Every time that I have booked through this website app the times that I have booked for that said they were available ended up getting cancelled or postponed One of the most recent trips that is upcoming I wasn t even informed anywhere that the time had been changed

Do not trust this website
I just bought 4 tickets from student discount website when I bought it checking bag for each passenger was included but one day before my flight when I am coming to do check in on website I find out I have to pay for my check in bag When I contact help desk they told wait and we will back to you we have to investigate it Just imagine how it is stressful for me My advice don t put yourself in this position and don t buy any ticket from student discount websites

EDIT Your sarcastic response is just what I would expect from such a trash company A few points about details being sold I received an email from GoGroopie a day after getting one of their dodgy flights I checked my history of messages and have never contacted this company before Regarding having the same as an Etihad customer well you have to jump through a few hoops to see your allowance on the Etihad website I always check with the airline before booking with dodgy websites like these and Etihad provided me with 32kg of checked in baggage Once you log onto the link from StudentUniverse you get sent through a few different pages before you will clearly see that booking with Student Universe only allows you 23kg Just a couple of things to watch out for when using this discount service First of all they sell your information to earn a bit on the side Expect to unsubscribe to some various websites Secondly the ticket you buy from this company you will come across limitations and this has never happened to me before with booking com etc What I mean is that you re not guaranteed your seat booking or reservation you may not be allowed the normal baggage allowance as normal passengers Little things I for instance booked a flight to UAE and Etihad had a 32kg baggage allowance I only had a 20kg baggage allowance which you can only discover by using the emails sent do not go on any other website or use Google I was stung 285 at the airport because of this Happy holidays

Avoid the agency there are cheap for a reason
I have been given a run around for days between them and the airline When i purchased my tickets they asked me to upload my passport copy however for some reason the name put on my ticket was the name used to sign up on their website not the name on my passport This made my tickets invalid i reached out for them but they asked me to wait I decided to speak to the airlines myself and still wasnt able to resolve the problems as the agency has to confirm everything they said as they are the ones i got the ticket from When i contact them they just kept telling me that they will updated me which they never did I just had to buy Another tickets as their customer service was so unprofessional

To advertise there flights clearly I m taking a flight to Honduras and there s no baggage allowance how rediculous by paying at the airport it brings the fare in line with other companies I ve payed for baggage and still haven t been refunded on top of that on arriving at Heathrow to checkin they wanted an American visa to board an American airline at no time was I told that All I want to do is fly to Honduras and major requirements they ve neglected to tell meIn that case if I should look up via consulates and embassies it would be an idea if you advised this before hand I would not have used you had I known the crap I had to go through 8 hours in Newark with no refreshments having to recheck my luggage back in That s not what I expected
