My restaurant bill was more expensive because this app added a charge to pay with credit card Asked the waiter politely to remove this charge and to pay in cash instead

I recently dined at Circolo Popolare and the server asked me to scan the QR code to pay the bill Initially I was happy because I could pay at my convenience However SundayApp added a checkout fee on top of the service charge and tip Why should I pay for using this app I asked the waiter to bring the card machine and paid my bill

The interface is completely dishonest I paid a tip of 2euros without realizing it when I clicked on continue Having waited 45min for my dish for lunch I wouldn t have given a tip either

Had a fabulous lunch at Gloria in
Had a fabulous lunch at Gloria in Shoreditch and when it came to pay the bill I was asked to pay use the QR code in the table - I did this and as we were in a hurry to catch a train I inadvertently clicked on yes to the tip - for which I paid 9 00 there were other options but the App defaulted to 9 00 and I was in a hurry When I got my emailed invoice I was then charged both a service charge of 12 5 plus a service fee for the app plus the tip Sunday App has spoiled a great experience and has left me feeling I d been conned into multiple charges on top on my bill so rather than helping Gloria to avoid bad reviews - has actually given them one and I won t be returning for that reason

Seriously unacceptable
When it came to paying the bill I was told to use the QR code on the table That took me to an app Sunday App only to charge me extra - what was called a checkout fee on top of the service charge - for the privilege of paying the bill without using a card machine That s unacceptable and nonsense I will never go to a restaurant that uses this app and pay a checkout fee

I scanned the QR code on the table to pay the bill as told to by the staff expecting a normal online app transaction However the Sunday App charged an additional checkout fee on top of the service charge which couldn t be removed Then it asks if I want to add a tip Literally fleecing me of money on an already expensive bill The staff in Big Mama Group are notoriously slow and avoid you when it comes time to pay so you have to be quite determined to get hold of them It must be a training tactic to force you to pay via QR code and pay over the odds Also I m sure this checkout fee tech fee is actually illegal and I ll be reporting them The app expects customers to pay the same service charge as before plus an extra fee for the supposed convenience despite reducing the service needed and experienced per customer It s simply unacceptable I feel really taken advantage of and disappointed I ve decided not to revisit any restaurant that uses this app and imposes such extra charges
