Working fine until the last week I ve been drinking 3 drinks per day but the schedule I got the next week had me drinking 0 drinks on Monday Hard to go from 3 per day to 0 Too fast Thankfully I can change it

Getting back on track quickly

I had been following Canada s low-risk drinking guidelines for a woman which allowed a maximum of 2 drinks a day for 5 days in a week and two dry days After the COVID pandemic and a couple of personal depressing incidents I found I was sometimes drinking 3 a day or skipping dry days Not a huge problem but one I didn t want to get worse I had had luck improving an exercise program by tracking and sharing my activities so I thought I would try it with drinking In general tracking and reporting on my drinking has worked quickly and well I will continue with the programme for a month or two more until I am sure I have formed the habit of responsible low-risk drinking again I don t know how well the programme would work for a person with a more serious alcohol problem but if they are determined to cut back becoming more aware of their patterns and having to report daily should help Myself the only problem I found at first has been that I already had a goal and had to tweak the suggested goals each week I didn t particularly like planning ahead which days would be 0 1 or 2-drink days For example Monday was a holiday in Canada and I had planned to have wine with dinner but I was out and the wine stores were closed so it became a zero day Tuesday was planned for a zero day too I changed the order

I like this program a lot but it doesn t allow for special occasions vacation etc I don t want to change my targets for a week or a day just to allow for that

Mindfulness helps in all of life including when we seek to change - the change is slow sometimes inconsistent we are human imperfect but over time the Sunnyside reminders and coaching is helping me manage and make healthier choices around drinking I have cut my drinking back to 1 3 of what it was and feel in control thankyou
