Don t Buy

My experience with Sunrun is totally negative After having a system installed my sister had a series of strokes resulting in dementia Acting on her behalf with a Power of Attorney I contacted Sunrun In order to sell her house we requested a price to buyout her contract They were either unable or unwilling to provide a price or help provide a path to a solution

Worst company I have ever dealt with

I bought a house with Sunrun panels After reading the reviews of this company I wanted nothing to do with them so I bought the panels on the day of closing with the check sent directly to them from the Title Company First they claimed they didnt get the money and I have to prove they had cashed the check Now they are going after me for a monthly leasing fee even though I never leased panels even for a day nor had a lease agreement with them I have spent countless hours dealing with these people Nobody you contact is able or willing to resolve their company s mistakes Not sure if it is greed massive incompetence or a not my job mentality

This company plays by no rules

This company plays by no rules They repeatedly violate the do not call list Their initial sales call is an automated robo call that initially shows a local nuumber but is spoofed If you do answer and meet their requirements You a routed to a call center in india From there you are paired with a sales rep who is paid by a company called bright solar marketing out of Temecula CA They are using multi layer L L Cs and go under so many names it is almost immpossible to follow the paths That being said it looks like the initial coorporate paperwork is a request listed in Florida s division of coorporations requesting a registration of a foriegn entity to operate legally in that state Customer service reps are located in so many different locations Ranging from Colorado to Guam Total scam They will fleece you from day one for as much as they can get then provide little or no service in case of failure STAY AWAY

THIS IS A BLATANT SCAM I ended up paying the same amount of my electric bill plus the solar system monthly bill The battery has not been working for the last six months and they keep telling you that someone is working on it but it is a lie They take no responsibility for broken equipment and pretend you will pay them for generating electricity to the local energy company without even having the battery support You will end up paying for NOTHING LITERALLY

Trash absolute trash

Trash absolute trash We have had sunrun for 10 years and with 20 panels our electric bill is 6000 a year in addition to 1500 to rent the panels The customer service is absolute garbage as it takes 3 hours to get through to someone just to get redirected and cut off with no call back this happened many times While at Costco one of the salesmen offered to send someone to service the panels when in reality a sleezy man came to sell more panels with no guarantee that it could generate some power long story short save yourself the money and heartache and go with a different solar company

Dishonest bait and switch

Sunrun uses dishonest and bait and switch tactics I signed up for Sunrun with intention of proceeding with them I learned from a friend that she received a lower quoted price and very clearly outlined warranty terms I asked sunrun to match her offer which I thought is a very simple and fair request yet they refused with all kinds of excuses Also on the phone they had told me verbally 25 years warranty but when I later checked my agreement it was not clearly written at all It has been disappointing and frustrating to deal with them I am not asking for a better deal than anyone else just the exact same deal and treatment they are giving other customers I had to put my installation on hold because I felt deceived

WARNING - DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER SOLAR WITH SUNRUN I would give 0 stars if I could I recently purchased a house with an existing Sunrun solar contract I cannot understand how the previous owners agreed to such a contract unless Sunrun lied to them The contract has a built-in 2 9 annual price increase - and that compounds yearly 7 years into my contract I am already paying considerably more than I would be paying the electric company I m locked into this contract for 20 years I don t like to think about what I ll be paying in 13 years

Poor customer support

We assumed a lease from a previous homeowner and have had numerous issues over the last four years The panels didn t work for 11 months We ve had roof leaks The support reps don t call text back after they ve been assigned to your case and I ve been unable to schedule appointments Meanwhile no one else at the company is able to schedule an appointment beyond the rep assigned to my case who won t call back The technicians haven t shown up when they re supposed to show without giving any updates I m ready to cancel the contract The cost savings have been marginal at best anyway and it s not worth the amount of time I ve had to spend on the phone with them to get issues resolved

If I could give zero stars I would Actually it s about a negative 10 stars I never thought I would wish to have my old corrupt energy company back but SunRun has managed to break new records for incompetence fraud price gauging and the absolute worst customer service EVER They run one cheery BS con artist at you at a time they promise to correct their egregious errors in service and billing offer you compensation they ghost you leaving you with nothing Virtually everything this company does is deceitful and incompetent To say that they could care less about their customers is a vast understatement Theives and con artists that s all you get I will be suing them in small claims court You should too
