Very slow company

Talbots Law was suggested to me from an estate agents while trying to purchase a property While things were generally fine working with them going through paperwork explaining parts of the proceedings I didnt understand The only issues came towards the end of the proceedings when we seemed to have an issue with the seller due to a conflict between the lenders At this point responses from the solicitors became slow with the person assigned to my case either regularly being away on training courses or their advisor being unable to respond to requests when information was required While the failure to secure my property when working with them may have soured my view of the company it can t be helped to think like this when they struggled to give the correct information as to what was causing the issue with the sellers property

Terrible communication

Terrible communication when selling a house I had to constantly email to get updates Draft contracts were sent to my buyers solicitor and it took me emailing 3 weeks later before they chased them up Overall the sale went through in about average time but it was just so stressful having to find out what was hapening

I felt the experience could be very intensely stressful and frustrating at times and know this could be quite normal and i understand pressures and also will covid but this is no consolation and also very frustrated with difficulties getting through to other solicitors and sometimes waiting for replies to get back so i am trying to give credit but it was an awful experience even to delays near end and i know this wasnt Talbots issue with all of it but being honest

Did their job but awful lack communication

They did what they were meant to and it all happened on time communication was very poor however I was passed between lots of different people to the point I didn t know who was dealing with my case there was no introduction or set up it was just a case of lots of emails from different people meaning I couldn t track what was needed when When I spoke to team members I didn t get much help either and was referred to a previous email or told to wait for one

Disappointed with the customer service and treatment

We used Talbots Law for the purchase of our new home It has now all been completed and we now have the home finalised which is great But unfortunately we did not enjoy the customer service and treatment from the Talbots Law team which really dampened our experience The Talbots Law team very rarely gave updates unless prompted multiple times did not provide the support we were looking for did not explain process document signing thoroughly had not been in touch with sharing our mortgage cashback on completion when it was due to be paid until followed up on and left us with more questions than anything Not sure if we would go through them again

Worked with Talbot on the purchase of our new home Their service is OK They attend calls and answer all the queries Areas they could improve is to improve communication with building agents have clear list of documents required before hand understand different people who are willing to purchase home for example people who are on a visa helping clients to save money in some areas where they could like attested documents Could pay more attention to small details We are eventually happy about the whole process Thank you Talbots

Used Talbots as they were dealing with my sake and new build purchase

Used Talbots as they were dealing with most of the new builds on the estate It was a very long process over 6 months due to 3 in the chain below Overall they wasn t bad but I think they could of chased query s quicker and been better at communicating with my buyers solicitors who were not good Will Parker was helpful Gina

The process was extremely slow and we often had to call to follow things up There wasn t one go to person which overly confused the situation When I spoke to the workers within the firm I had to explain in detail what I was requesting each time We did however find one-two staff members helpful

Talbots got the job done

Talbots got the job done I don t think we would use them again or recommend them to a friend or family member You have to do a lot of the leg work and chasing up of things yourself Talbots were waiting for something to come back from the Land Registry which they assured us they were chasing regularly I made one phone call to the Land Registry to find that the documentation had been posted out weeks prior and had also been uploaded to a portal which Talbots could view immediately Their preferred method of communication seems to be email which I fully understand so that there is a record of everything but sometimes to provide excellent customer service all you need to do is pick up the phone and speak with your client

Good start but became very frustrating

Positives Process completed for sale of property including additional work with the Land Registry Initial allocated contacts Joshua Round Ellen Brindley Millie Dunham were very prompt and helpful Negatives Contacts became inconsistent with very poor frustrating response times and emails with unprofessional grammar Currently still waiting over two weeks for a response to a question raised after receiving the final list of charges
