One star is for the platform

one star is for the platform But 4 removed because there is lack of compromise I am used to self study but this is an online university The teacher graded wrongly and finally had to leave the course withraw but the W never appeared I tried to contact the personal advisor never getting any reply same happens with the chatbot is not useful I have tried to contact you to formally withraw but is impossible There is a lack of compromise in your volunteers If the person doesn t have time to do the job shouldn t just get the compromise for prestige

No scholarships just a smokescreen

I clicked a banner claiming this University of the People online school was giving scholarships It turned out I must pay 60 just to sign up for the website On top of that after paying I was told there were no scholarships I later found out the students at this online school are not even eligible for federal grants aid or subsidized student loans Total scam

Nope nope and nope

I had high hopes when I first started at this university only for my dreams to become a nightmare I had ok professors but one was just bad If you are working a job or have a family this format may not be the best as you only have a week to complete assignments Other universities that are online are self paced I wasted not only my time but money here at this university So choose wisely

I have tried to get a refund of my application fee There are truly free training programs but the University of the people is not one What is wrong with them that they are supposed to be so successful but refuse to return 60 dollars that was fraudulently obtained It seems like that are not what they said they are and I want to contact all the universities and companies like Harvard and Twitter that they say they are affiliated with I have sent multiple emails asking for a refund and withdrawing my application because I was defrauded It is not free It is not cheaper than a university In order to get credit you have to pay for assessment exams There are costs involved I would not recommend it

Overly reliant on Unicheck

I am an IT professional with 25 years experience in enterprise level server architecture virtualization and disaster recovery I decided to try UoPeople as I never had a chance to get a degree when I was younger I m 50 now As a mature student I went through the prerequisites fine All good I started taking the 100 level courses The Computer Programming instructor accused me of plagiarism via a tool they use to check for it called Unicheck I viewed the report and saw the matches which were all on the coding itself almost like coding a specific task needs to follow a proper syntax to work And even the report itself only matched 1 here 3 there nothing conclusive I mentioned this to the instructor and was rudely told to stop copying my work or I would be reported to the administration As someone who has worked in IT for 25 years I have a wealth of knowledge and experience at my fingertips but that meant nothing to the instructor so I withdrew completely from UoPeople instead of tolerating their rude insulting and unprofessional behavior

Fake University Fake Degree

I am 6 terms into my studies at UoPeople I have given it every chance to get better but it is horrible The course instructors are hit or miss Some care some DGAF Classmates are awful because there are no standards for this school Peers are grading your essays incorrectly with no idea how to use a rubric no idea about APA formatting and most are non-native English speakers judging my English incorrectly I am a writer by trade with a BA in Communications from an Australian university The group work is torture This school is a for-profit diploma mill no matter what all of their online bots tell you in the reddit comments section It is rubbish the degree will not be valued when you are done But if you pay your 240 a term you will keep passing and get a degree even if you don t deserve it Hundreds of thousands of students paying them cash and they dare say they are not-for-profit Total rubbish I have a 4 0 GPA and I barely make any effort This is not a Master s level degree I have taught primary school students who are held to higher standards than this course It is a complete joke and I regret getting this deep into my studies with them Your assigned program advisor is a copy paste robot who can not and will not ever do anything to help you Anything I have reported just gets a standard bot reply Serious problems go unresolved Just a horrible expereince Dodgy Israeli for-profit website taking your money and handing out worthless bits of paper after a couple of years Don t do it
