Unethical set up that preys on Vulnerable

My daughters friend received a voucher at Comic-Con and thought first two photos were included When they attended the photo shoot they were pressured to buy more photos and told this would be cheaper However they were not given a price at this time Eventually they were told the cost would be 1050 This was totally Unaffordable to them as they are both onbenefits only They were told they would need a loan but this is also not affordable on their incomes The loan was put in my daughters name but with her friends occupation of unpaid carer and a made up income of 30k a year My address was also used instead of my daughters actual address as her ID had not been updated Both girls challenged these things but were told it was ok and asked to sign Feeling under pressure they went ahead My daughter said several times that she would not be able to afford the loan and that she wasn t working To put this into context both girls have mental health conditions which make them vulnerable and easy to persuade to do things My daughter does not have control of any of her money as she is not mentally capable of making decisions about finance I hold Power of Attorney for her I allowed her to come to the studio as I felt from what I had seen that it was a professional business My daughter didn t think any spending would be involved so this was not considered a problem However as it turned out they were pressured and coerced into making decisions that they were not able to fully understand My daughter is vulnerable and this was preyed upon purely to get extra business She was told she had 14 days to cancel the loan but when we tried to do this with the loan company we were told she can t cancel it as the funds have already been paid and we needed to resolve it with vanity studios We can no longer get through to them to discuss the situation I am seeking legal advice as my daughter can not afford these repayments and the staff member gave false details to process the loan which my daughter is not mentally capable of deciding upon Many people have called this operation a scam I am inclined to agree but certainly their practices are unethical and the costs of their service 1050 for 20 digital photos is astronomic even companies like Disney do not charge half that for their photos But tl

Shocking Customer Service

The level of customer service pre- and post-shoot is SHOCKING I ve submitted a complaint about the overall experience I had on 21 May 2023 so that s more than SIX WEEKS AGO I have since had one call from a member of staff who didn t even read my complaint properly He did acknowledge the failings of the shoot set up amongst other things I wasn t assigned the senior photographer I paid for I m surprised you paid for so many images considering Then I had one more email from his colleague advising that they will be in touch shortly with a resolution to this matter That was more than THREE WEEKS AGO Egregious As mentioned in my original feedback below there were at least two red flags I had regarding poor customer service before I foolishly booked I just want my money back Original Feedback Molly Customer Service - Initially spoke with her re services warm conversation I forwarded a pleasant message commending her on how she was on the call and advising that I looked forward to booking Message went unacknowledged Red Flag 1 Christian Customer Service - I called in regardless of above to firm up details I received a snotty email at 5 30 AM after I had made a polite follow-up enquiry after speaking with him earlier He did apologise after I communicated the inappropriateness of his message Red Flag 2 Make up Lady Romanian - First Class Matteo Photographer - I felt a little rushed Disappointed it wasn t more of a collaborative shoot I was a perfectionist hoping to be directed by a perfectionist I also wanted variety in my shots Most of my shots were at one angle same expression same lighting direction Why couldn t we change the lightings around Angie Shot Reviewer - First Class Overall considering the financial outlay I feel the experience was underwhelming I was after a cool relaxing comfortable treat I did ask for headshots however the implication especially with the variety of clothes I brought with me was to have a portfolio of corporate shots After viewing the variety of shots mounted on the walls shelves it s a shame that I wasn t encouraged to consider some torso shots and maybe utilising the studio sofa for at least a couple of full length shots Advice to individuals who want to make an appointment Ask for the quietest periods for shoots you may get noisy occupants of the neighbouring studio Review images they have before advising what you want Don t allow yourself to be rushed

Wouldn t recommend

If you are considering buying a voucher I would not recommend The so-called voucher business from my experience is a way to get you to spend more money whether you like it or not They sell the idea of an experience but my experience was unpleasant In fairness the two women who did my makeup and hair were nice but everything else was stressful and seemed pushy and intimidating Make sure you re 100 familiar with their terms and conditions because I think it s not customer-oriented and a ploy to get you to spend more money than you are willing to I met two girls there who got their voucher too and said it felt like a trick scam of sorts to get more money out of you I respect all the positive reviews if those were really their experiences but if you re considering buying a voucher I would not recommend In all honesty if I knew this is how it would go I would have let the 40 I paid for the voucher go and not schedule to go to the studio at all The woman who was selecting the photographs for us and showing us the packages seemed irritated immediately we told her we didn t want to get a lot of pictures- it s almost as if she didn t understand why we didn t want to get more pictures outside of the complimentary ones In the long run they claim we were both more than 20 mins late I admit I was late but definitely not over 20 minutes as they claimed and forced us to pay for extra pictures with the money we put down as a deposit because of that I personally wouldn t recommend but if you still want to go all the best I hope you have a better experience than we did

I feel hugely deceived by this company

I feel hugely deceived by this company I should never have accepted this offer at MCM London last year where the guy basically said Turn up with the costumes you re wearing now and have some photos taken it s that straightforward If only it was This was to be a family shoot me wife and 18 month old son for the following year nearer to the next MCM We re anxious anyway as both me and my wife are not photogenic but stupidly falling for this offer and paying 75 00 per person because I m an idiot felt obligated to go We re not local so would have had to splash out for transport hotels etc So again in the region of another 500 00 or so just for this experience An experience I m told after involves a strict schedule involving hair and make-up which my wife does not want to be done but they re insisting or this will hinder our chances at receiving our deposit back 4x outfits are also mandatory per model again if these aren t brought to the shoot this will also hinder our deposit So we re going to have to bring a hefty bag with us to fit all those outfits and a child verging on the terrible 2s Paired with what people seem to have experienced on here the misunderstandings on the bookings etc literally just kept putting us down for the wrong dates and sending us emails stating that we missed appointments etc which in turn caused more stress having to chase up clarification Received apologies every time but this happened on more than one occasion so it got my back up a bit We ve decided to not turn up to our appointment and said farewell to the money we ve just handed over to a company that provided nothing but stress I will however be warning people of this scam at this year s ComicCon I ll get some form of satisfaction by warning others Edit I did respond to Jennifer but she s chosen to ignore my email So don t be fooled by the response people

Be very wary of what you sign up for if you re purchasing a voucher I have been extremely concerned by the lack of transparency regarding the associated costs of the services at Vanity Studios We were initially provided a quote for the photography package 59 99 by Nas at an expo in November 2023 and made a payment based on that quote It was only after making the purchase that we were told there was a substantial deposit of 50 This was not communicated to us during the initial transaction Upon reading the terms and conditions and speaking with a member of staff at the studio we realised this is 50 per person not 50 in total as had been communicated to us by Nas the sales person and in fact 75 per person on weekends Regardless of whether it is included in the fine print the sale was misleading and dishonest It is imperative for customers to be informed about the complete cost structure associated with a service including any significant deposits at the outset The failure to disclose this information has caused undue financial strain I hope we will not experience any pressurised selling or other shady tactics as it seems some others have experienced and that we will receive our deposit back in full on the date of the service

It s a scam and a fraud they don t have good customer service and they don t have a good education They do not provide the services they offer and are not trained to do so -The manicurist does not know how to paint and file the nails She uses the same file for everyone she doesn t use disinfectant Dry nail polish The service is lousy I don t recommend it it s a steal -The hairdresser boy does not have a good attitude very rude he does not treat the client well -The blonde lady who charges you at the end very rude until she made my daughter cry The lady wanted to force us to buy the most expensive package almost 1500 pounds She charged me a total of 210 for 3 photos with demands It s a scam they don t know how to treat the customer they don t do their job well they don t have a good education The services that they offer for the preparation of the skin they do not do it The only ones who were kind and good professionals are in fact - The make-up artists and the photographer That happened in our session I do not recommend it they should refund my money

442077344731 vanity studios is a scam They sold me a voucher and I was told that I had a year to book an appointment a booking required 50 which is refundable on attendance for 4 of my fanily member Weeks later they started calling me presuring me to book an appointment or else I was to loose the voucher I bought and if i dont book by 19 Jan 2024 Additionally they said to book the date I have to pay 50 for each of my family member who attends the shoot but if something happens to any attendee and they don t make it that money is none refundable When I explained that I was informed otherwise they told me that that information was emailed to me after I paid and I had 14 days on receipt of that email to cancel if I wasn t happy with their terms I feel robbed because I am pushed to pay them more money within a shot time and in these hard financial times I was mislead to understand I had a year to book the appointment and they turned it round after they had received my payment I am looking for legal help for financial harassment and for being sold something different to what I agreed on with their representative I would like to have this aired on channel four scam businesses - families don t need such financial scums in these times of financial hardships If anyone knows who can help spread this nationally so that other customers don t fall victim please drop me an email here thank you Olivia

The entire day was a debacle

The entire day was a debacle the make up process only lasted 30 minutes felt rushed and she did not explain what products she was using on my face In addition to this my make up was not contoured and my un-threaded eyebrows were not covered in an effort to align my face The photographers were also late to attend however Keiron was a pleasant individual and it was a pleasure working with him especially as i only wanted the complimentary photo The consultation process was shockingly very unprofessional as Pascale had made a mistake e g provided me with 2 complimentary photos instead of 1 and then expected me to pay for it inevitably i declined Prior to leaving my apt i was informed that i would be fully reimbursed 75 in 2 days time on the 05 06 24 i emailed Samantha vanity manager to inform her that i was still waiting for my reimbursement yet to date she has not responded My apt was on the 02 06 24 six days have passed and i have yet to receive my refund or a response from the manager Samantha This entire experience has been very disappointing and i could only assume that the after treatment would have been more forthcoming if i had gone ahead and purchased a package i would like to be contacted immediately so that my concerns can be addressed Overall Vanity studios have had there time its all about Broadway now UPDATE - Just saw the response from Vanity and it s disheartening to be be given excuses especially regarding pascale who explained that she was an experienced worker plus prior to the make up being applied Samiah explained that each process would last 1 hour

I would not recommend and If I could give it a negative star I would My experience with Vanity Studios has been abysmal My story starts with attending a Christmas Fayre in London in November last year The agent at the stall was full-on not even giving myself or my daughter the time to consider whether we wanted to have a photo session as a consequence of these tactics we reluctantly signed up for a photoshoot and the agent took a 40 deposit from me Over the next few days we reconsidered and decided that it wasn t for us and I emailed to ask for a refund of the deposit I have now been waiting for nearly 4 months and still no deposit is forthcoming Several emails and telephone calls to be told someone will ring me back and they haven t have been exchanged always instigated by me I am promised a refund and nothing happens The customer service is just dreadful I am now at the end of my tether and am considering small claims court in order to get my refund back Think twice before you sign up

Sold as a single fee photoshoot - So many hidden fees

Was persuaded to sign up at Comic Con in London on the basis of a photoshoot for a single fee But it is not completley mis-sold Was told You have 12 months to use the voucher thats the first mis-truth you have 3 and have to book for a date you never know if you are going to be free Then there is a further refundable booking fee mis-truth No 2 as none of this mentioned The for this you get 1 picture yes a single picture for an entire day oh they sell it on makeup dont wear it and hair stylist I shave my head When I called the person was very dismissive and said Oh you read the email on these dates an times most likely triggered by the mail app as I was accused of reading it second after they had the cash I would rather talk with a cosplay photographer and pay for their time at least they are upfront with you and you do get more than 1 single pictire for the costEditThe studio had a presence at MCM London in May approached on 2 seperate days same sales technique a zero lesson learnt - Dont get burnt
