My mentor was the most valuable asset to WGU She was available and attentive to my student needs She gave me guidance related to what couse to take first and what to anticipate overall She was available to give me reassurance I am sure that this was a good reason for completing my courses

My WGU Experience

My mento and instructors were fantastic and always helpful WGU is always available to help with any questions or confusing points The IT group is wonderful My only problem was with my last two classes and the Evaluators I had to resubmit several times because the Evaluators were not clear in what they wanted I felt judged and misinterpreted Even the instructors from one of the classes could not help me and directed me to the Evaluation Committee This was the final straw and only problem I had with WGU

WGU is a great online university that allows students to go at their own pace I was able to finish my bachelor s in a year and a half Their staff is amazing and my Program Mentor was always such a huge help

I loved the fact that Western Governors made me feel comfortable asking questions about material that I did not initially understand They gave me the confidence I needed to discipline myself and succeed in obtaining my master s degree I graduated with not just a degree but a higher level of self-esteem

Being able to learn at my own pace without the stress of timelines homework projects etc was one of the various reasons my experience at WGU was so great

Mostly I loved and recommend WGU Getting an online degree is not easier it is more time efficient The staff were wonderful and very helpful I struggled with the math needed for my program This needs to be addressed within the school A huge amount of other fellow students complaining on social media It is outdated

No regrets

I received my bachelors and my masters degree from WGU both in accounting I never thought this would be possible for me You can not beat the value and the flexibility that comes with earning your degree from WGU I am now working in the accounting field and I honestly feel well prepared in my position Now for my really only gripe While in the bachelors program WGU made me feel well prepared and like they had my back when I was stuck There were far more resources available to me while in the bachelors program While I was getting my masters it was more here s the material good luck There were far less materials and resources available in the masters program Overall I don t regret going nor would I have changed anything about it WGU is the best university for adult learners hands down

Overall I would have given WGU the top rating as it allowed me to accomplish my degree However it does seem that some of the required courses are geared toward High School grads rather than those of us with 20 or more years of management work experience For example it would be great if a student had the option to learn or substitute certain standard programs like say Quickbooks rather than spreadsheets

The ability to have class on-line to go at my pace was huge It would be nice if the tuition was more a la carte I am always pulled many ways and didn t always get all my classes done in the required time semester Love having the certifications from the testing companies showing knowledge in the field of study after each course WGU was exactly what I needed to complete my degree

My instructor Donna was excellent and guided me when I had questions There was one instructor that had me continue to write about a topic that he knew would not work but allowed me to waste almost 2 months on the topic This was very frustrating to me and caused me to waste quite a bit of time and energy on a topic that the instructor knew would not work That is the only complaint I have about WGU I would highly recommend the MSN program
