My first experience with Worksome as a freelancer and there has been constant confusion and issues Firstly picking up hefty Employer s NI costs which HMRC said themselves was against their guidelines and is illegal Secondly I had Employer s pension and Employee pension deductions passed on before even being enrolled You get replies on customer service but the whole platform and they way it s set up is impersonal and unsupportive with complicated matters I would really avoid having to use the platform again as it s been costly and complicated

Very bad experience with Worksome If I could give zero stars I m afraid I would As a freelancer who has done a few days work for a company all you want to do once the work has been completed is send an invoice directly to that companies Accounts Dept then 14 day or so later receive payment In my view adding in a third party to the payment chain never works and only complicates things and slows down the payment coming through The main purpose it seems of Companies using an organisation such as Worksome is so as to check on the employee s IR35 status But my role is IR35 exempt plus I m a Limited Company which further negates this check but there is no way currently to bypass this happening I think this is a situation Worksome needs to look into

Thankyou for your reply But it does seem your putting a positive spin on things when the reality has been a very negative experience As listed in the guidance from HMRC themselves my role as Focus Puller is deemed to be outside of IR35 Plus I m an employee of my own limited company so quite why my status needs to be re-checked is beyond me This process has only complicated things I believe things will change again in April this year with some of the more onerous checks being abolished

My pay was delayed by my employer When it was payed worksome delivered to my account in less than 2 hours

They have scraped my contact details and are now making unsolicited contact and won t remove my information Violation of GDPR Do not use

Always seems to be some sort of problem every time it comes to needing to invoice If that s not annoying enough they often ask for extra verification via sms which takes on average about 2 hours to come through by which time you ve had to get back to work and its timed out Don t bother using this company they are useless

another freelancing site just the same crap as a freelancer i ll never spend my valuable time on this platfrom where i only saw spammy fake projects

Using this platform because a client wants me to classic So far I ve found it to be concerningly buggy and I m hoping to see some improvement as time goes on User-friendliness is okay leaning towards poor Site can be hard to navigate sometimes the platform will tell you things like your information is incomplete to receive payment but will not tell you what is missing On the plus side if you ask the customer service agents they can usually tell you quite quickly what you ve missed One of the things that really bugged me was that the platform auto-generates invoices for you based on timesheets and unlike some other contractor payment platforms does not allow you to choose your own reference numbers or upload your own invoices I found this to be a pain for my personal book-keeping because it means I have two completely different systems of reference numbers for no good reason I can see More concerning I noticed that my first invoice was generated with incorrect artificially low numbers of hours the good news is that at least the day rates and overall fee are both correct Additionally I couldn t see my own invoice until the client approved the payment request which is odd and a bit backwards Considering the whole point is the platform supports financial compliance I find it astounding that it is autogenerating invoices with errors on them and without the ability to create your own reference numbers If Worksome allowed users to upload their own invoices this would be less of an issue It s not the first weird false calculation bug I ve experienced the platform also autogenerated an incorrect laughably low hourly rate for me 5 88 I think when I first signed up and input my day rate even though I don t accept contracts that pay by the hour In terms of customer service agents are responsive during work hours and perfectly nice though they don t usually have the answer to bugs like above without further investigation This is understandable but concerning when basic parts of the platform don t make sense and you have to wait for an answer I wouldn t say to avoid them completely but proceed with caution and have an eye on the detail i e whether your rates and invoices are correct to save yourself potential future hassle Honestly I m a bit nervous using a platform that has so many bugs so early in the experience

We are currently using the platform to recruit staff So far it s looking good However the job posting has been halted for unknown reasons Will update again soon

A good platform easy to use I would really like an app though I often miss work alerts hidden in my inbox
